Could just be there for optional "built-in" bluetooth or Wifi. A USB module is probably cheaper than an Mini-PCI.
Plus, if they do no wireless, Wifi-only and Wifi+BT models, with a single Mini-PCI slot, they would need both Wifi and Wifi+BT cards, if they have a "hidden" USB port, they only need to stock Wifi mini-PCI cards and USB bluetooth adapters, the same adapters that are sold independently.

The best example that I can think of is not having the option to type in a path in the Finder.

So what's wrong with the "Go to folder..." option in the "Go" menu, that can also be invoked with Cmd-Shift-G ?

That's right, you didn't see the option right in front of you, so you assumed it didn't exist. This is similar to what I find many about people who dislike the Mac after trying it. The have the attitude "I'll try a Mac, they're easy to use" and without realizing it, they expect it to act just like Windows, because that's what they're used to and Mac's are just sooo easy to use they shouldn't have to learn anything.

Contrast that to the attitude of most first-time Linux users "I'll learn Linux, it'll be a challenge". Of course this leads to the "Its difficult to use, I have to learn it" attitude, but at least they accept that things will be different to Windows.

Never had any Wifi troubles, how can you compare the Windows and Mac's signal strength, when you don't know if the signal strength percentage is calibrated the same, or if even the same algorithm is used on the two platforms?

Yes, I realize that the Finder doesn't update it's view automatically, probably because until 10.3 the UNIX components for monitoring folders simply weren't there, meaning it would have to poll to do it. (Polling==Bad).

Never had the Internet copying problem though, maybe it's due to your host?

"Put away" is just silly. Prior to Mac OS X, the desktop wasn't a "real" place (an artifact from Macintosh System 1.0 in which folders were implemented as file attributes), it just displayed files that were set to display there, on multiple disks. I guess Apple realized how confusing that was to just about everyone else, and now the desktop is an actual folder. Why do you want to go back in time?

People don't buy video games to experiance real life. Simple as that.

If you want to make the game, sorry "simulation" realistic, cars would cost between $10,000 and $1,000,000, tracks would be $10,000,000+ and take years to "download". Oh, and you would be playing in an actual car, on an actual track... Oh look, I've just described real life.

People buy video games to do things that they could never do in real life, and have fun while they are at it. Who in real life gets to be a secret agent, military commander, fighter pilot and professional racing driver, all in one week?
    Nobody, except in video games.

Many racing games already have an economic model, you earn money in races, which you can spend on cars. Just like a real racing driver. In a sense, using real money actually makes it less realistic, who earns their money in a day job, then enters professional races in their spare time?

Dijkstra's comment is hyperbole, not literally true, and is about the BASIC interpreter of his day, not later ones.

I first programmed in BASIC2 on GEM DESKTOP on an old Amstrad. I moved to QBasic later.
QBasic was a nice langauge, because it allowed you to write traditional BASIC code or procedualised BASIC (and mix the two). As I became more proficient, my code became more procedural.
I eventually moved to VB, then to C, then I leared Java, C++, PHP, etc.

QBasic was a great "gateway" langauge to programming. The fact that a limited copy of it came with every copy of MS DOS and Windows NT/2000 (and was on Windows 95-ME and XP's CD's), meant that it was always available and there was a great online community of QBasic programmers. (Until XP's release meant that most QB 4.5 apps broke.)
