If I google "openstack" the first item is an ad that links to www.vmware.com/Enterprise. That tells me that VMware does think that they are equivalent, why else pay for the advert?
I cant say I'm surprised, if they have to rebuild their network expect it to take months, this really isnt a case of patching a windows server and rebooting.
I expect one of the things keeping them offline will be the credit card companies, they are probably the ones in control right now.
As you can clearly see the majority of North Korea uses non-light polluting light, it's considerably more advanced than the light used in other nations.
"How about this: the color of the light emitted by CFLs and LEDs is ugly, and sometimes even hard on the eyes (especially with LEDs)."
I call bullshit on this one, I've got both incandscent and cfl in my house (incandscent for dimmer switches). I cannot tell the difference as far as the colour of light goes. There is a slight delay in cfls delivering full power, but its really not worth complaining about it.
"If you consider my above statements to be "crap" then you shouldn't have skipped class on the day they talked about the light spectrum. The spectrum emitted unquestionably differs between lighting technologies."
Maybe you should try getting out once in a while and trying new stuff with a open mind rather than just trying to bitchslap anyone who may consider disagreeing with you?
You have to be kidding, this has been going on for a year on my server. They did nothing to fix it, just took our money. Their reputation in England is worse than toilet water at the moment. I dont care what their terms of service say, spending between 30 minutes and over two hours trying to get into instances for around a year is totally unacceptable.
I currently spend what probably amounts to several hundred pounds a year on music/films. I do not illegally download the stuff, if I start getting charged £20 a year in tax I will stop buying legal copies and start downloading (what will no doubt still be considered illegal) copies. This will be a net loss for the entertainment industries, for the retails, and ultimately the government. These industries really are doing everything they can to destroy themselves. I'm surprised there isn't a shareholder revolt, the executives certainly don't have the best interests of the company at heart.
I'm probably not unique in this but I always read the bad reviews, it gives you an idea of the limitations of a product, you can then decide if they are limitations you can live with.
Same here, so that makes two people. I was rather disturbed to see people talking about boycotting games on another thread, the consensus seem to be boycott the PC version because of the DRM but buy the console version. We need to boycott the company, all of their products (and yes it can be painful). Be vocal about it too, if there is an article on a news site about the company, and you are able to comment, post a _polite_ notice saying that you no longer buy from them specifically because of their DRM policy.
The political system in the UK is broken, there is no choice, there are two main parties, neither of which are interested in the country or the population. Politicians are interested in their own careers, money and power, and therefore courting the media, politics is now all about advertising. I now refuse to vote, in someway I feel that voting legitimizes a completely broken system. Short of full scale anarchy I don't see how you fix the political system in the UK.

The mouse and keyboard work, they require little body movement (its bad enough having to take your hands off the keyboard to use the mouse). If you have a choice of waving your hands around in the air to zoom in and out and move images around or using a mouse which are you going to pick? I can just imagine spending 10 hours at work waving my arms around, one day of this and I'll have to take the rest of the month of to recover.
To be honest I doubt that this was a real reason, Tony had decided he wanted the law, once Tony has made up is mind that is it, he would say anything to get it passed. The same thing happened with the Iraq war, Tony failed to give a single justifiable reason for war. There may have been a good reason for the war, or for 90 day detentions, but he certainly hasn't told the public what they are.
It's amusing that he was saying anything less than 90 days was completely arbitrary, and therefore 90 days was non negotiable. The MET police commissioner said that 90 days was nice but more would be better, which says to me that 90 days is arbitrary, which means don't read anything into it.
I think bringing back Kirk is a great idea. Lets face it if a song from David Hasselhoff can bring down the Berlin Wall then a song from Kirk could easly bring about Galactic Peace!
How do you feel about your audio CD The Transformed Man? Personally I thought that it was so entertaining that I went and brought a second copy, have you any idea how many copies are in circulation?
Microsoft products have their place, but you are wrong in saying they dont hold a gun to our heads.
I am constantly getting word documents emailed to me that contain a few lines of text (some from Sun distrubuters!) I use Solaris, i dont want to receive text in doc format, i certainly dont want to receive it through email (look at the size difference between doc and ascii files).
I choose not to use Microsoft products, the trouble is I get forced into a situation where I HAVE to. (Word, IE (web sites being specifically written to chuck out browsers that are non-MS (there is no reason for this other than market dominance goals))).
As for MS products being better than the competition, personally I think not. BUT that is a personal opinion, based on my own preferences.
I graduated in Molecular Genetics in Biotechnology. Could I get a job, no! I have just finished an MSc in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems. That biotech boom is not here yet, and won't be for quite a few years.

Well I'd like to thank Blizzard for the trailer, best laugh I've had in a long time. Awful, simply awful.

The scrolling is painfully slow (read unusable), I'm using firefox, on linux, on a 6 year old laptop, it used to be fine.
Candle flame is loaded with Buckminsterfullerene. These molecules have been right under our noses for that long.
You're telling me there's a bunch of aliens out there with candles? Shit, break out the nukes.

They're gonna charge beta testers. There's a reason I don't buy from EA, vote with your wallet.

> So you're saying they visited each turbine twice a day on average? From a helicopter?
Maybe the engineers kept getting diced in the turbine blades?

No it's not, it's called Gold Digging...

What does it matter, I thought most airlines over booked seats anyway. ;)
