Why havnt sco changed the image back yet? Theyre very slow about it. Hopefully they wont be as slow when they start doing the linux support we pay them for
Ive been playing with DSPAM which seems very good. They claim a 99.991% accuracy. Apparently this is 10 times more accurate then a human. But Ive heard that most anti-spam solutions are very good.
I don think it would look better then the original. I assume they would apply filters etc to make it seem to look better? May be color enhacements etc?
I used to use Redhat/mandrake on the desktop. But then I discovered Slackware and started running it on my desktop. Its very good... but you need to know a bit about the internals before you can start using it. I like it because it doesnt try do everything for you and installing other things is easy.
I think its also a good distro to start learning linux.
I think opensource does help games with the "aftermarket". Look at games like Quake1, Quake2, Doom1, Doom2, Duke3D etc etc. All of them have beed opensourced and people have improve them after their life time.
I think game developers can take the "updated" versions of their games and see what the community has done to them, and may be get ideas from them.
I like the idea of the Quakes being opensource, its nice to play a super version of games you used to play.
I heard a theory once about getting a gym to power their lights from the people in the gym. The idea was to hook up all the bikes to a generator. I think its a good idea.

With all this talk of X, ive remembered Y-Windows http://www.y-windows.org/ Does anybody know whats happened to Y? According to the road map, version 0.3 should have beed out 4 months ago.
Every time something like this happens, theres always the argument that the internet was built to survive attacks. If something does happen, it will be interesting to see what happens, and how things will/wont work.
Does spam really pay? Is it really worth gathering millions of e-mail addresses and destroying a good feature like e-mail just to make a few bucks? Im glad those arrests were made. If thats one less spam Ill recieve, Im glad.
Im sure that a few years ago I heard a few claims that PCs wouldnt get past a certain speed. But it seems that they have been proved wrong more then once. Why wont this apply to data??
(if a cable has a max speed of x, run 2 cables and ge twice the speed!)
If you take the growth of linux, you can predict when it will take over the desktop. But you also gotta consider that windows grows as well. And im sure Bill and his pals look at Linux and make sure their products are competative...

> The rest of the software library (glib, bash, etc.) is already ready And very mature
What would we need it for? Im sure people will think of things to use it for. But I cant think of anything to use it for.

Does anyone know how the dolphin gets used to using the new fin? If people go through training to use a fake leg, how do dolphins do it?
I heard that people are now leaking the linux code all over the place ;)

What happens if vendors just write some bloated rubbish driver just so they dont have to be on the list? Then we have badly supported hardware aswell?

Doesnt everything go like this? Im sure they will find a solution to the problem... then a new hack will come out... then a solution will come out...
Hey... Its a public holiday for us South Africans... dont mock it!
I think they should make a short version of the change log with a summery of what changed. Does anybody know of such a thing?

Its shaped like a horn...? Is that where the sounds in my head come from?

I found that my mouse was more responsive. That was the only performance difference betwen 2.4 and 2.6 for me
Its strange how that happens... isnt it?
