I'm just replying to see this thread get attention, "World's Fist 1GB email" is a title handed out a while ago. "Spymac's free membership includes: 1 GB e-mail account, 350 MB combined storage, personal blog, forum, gallery, auctions and more"

All things being equal, or even somewhat unequal, we'd rather drive Macs than WinPCs. We think they are a better value, we think they are a better machine, we think they look better than even most case mods and we think they run the superior OS. It will take pretty damn earthshaking evidence to the contrary to change my mind. It does what I want to do better than a WinPC and I like it so much better. Stop arguing with us.

I don't think we give near enough thought to the way that we are ravaging our planet. Don't get me wrong, I love tech. But I am dying for a freeway safe electric car. Even then though, we use dirty tech to make electricity. It can't last, but we are addicted to it.
I hope someone does come up with a way to make clean technologies widely available.

Excatly. We know that while traditional methods work for many, other children (often the most creative children) struggle with them. I struggled with academics all my life until someone pointed out that I was a visual learner and that I should draw pictures to understand concepts once I started using pictures and flash cards regularly, my grades went way up.

Let us not forget that 7.6% down is still making a few select people BUCKETS full of money. And, sorry, it ain't the artist. Even the big dollar acts, Mariah Carey, Metallica, et. al. are making less on CD sales than the lable. Metallica are millionares because the sold a buttload of t-shirts.

Sheryl Crow, "C'mon C'mon." I bought it for 18 plus tax and "Soak Up The Sun" was the only song worth a damn. There's an example. Also, Trust Company "The lonely position of neutral" I loved "Downfall", I ripped it to iTunes and never listened to the CD again. Luckily it was a gift.

Those are opposed to U2's "All that you can't leave behind" where I love every song. Yes, Limewire has helped me weed out the crap.

Since we all agree that copyrights are good, but large corporations abusing the system is bad. Try this.

Ditch Britney, Snoop, 50 Cent and the like and listen to underground music, and local music. People who are recieving 10 bucks for the 10 dollar cd you buy. These are the people who are willing to explore p2p solutions, who have never hassled me about fair use, who are going to still be there if the whole RIAA structure goes bankrupt tomorrow.Your dollars paid in boosting sales for major "artists" is what gives the RIAA their muscle.

The fact is, currently, p2p downloads are dominated by top 40 acts. Nobody is really screaming about the downloads I made researching music for my 70's coverband. But, if you like the current pop music, and you STEAL it... OF COURSE those rich people want to stay rich. What did you think they'd do? Here, I'll start you off. Here's the url for a cool local (so cal) band with tunes you can download for free. http://www.jointheconspiracy.com

Just don't /. them. It's hard rock. If your not interested, move along.
