There is QBXML which is the open XML format that QuickBooks uses. They also release a nice SDK, tho not sure how helpful that is to Linux developers.
The OSCommerce contribution, Quickbooks Import QBI plugs directly into this... I'm certain it wouldn't be that difficult (for an adept programmer) to plug GC into QB via QBXML. lol, thats alot of acronyms.
...market will dig such a deep hole that it doesn't react until the shit hits the fan.
Agreed... but then that leads to the question: How do we know when the shit has hit the fan?

Perhaps the growing demand/use of asp based web apps has something to do with the marketshare growth as well.
I know that personally, i'd host my asp apps on a Linux box if chillisoft was more common, but it's tricky to find a host with decent support, and all the features needed to run an asp or asp.net.
i give you +1 for effort, but perhaps using a source other than the Mozilla foundation would hold a stronger argument?
Any official MS guru's know the answers to these questions out there?
why's IE so big (technically, not speculatively) and what hooks / calls are really going on between it and the kernel32.dll??
also, if it's the Mac version we're talking about, why would any of these calls be present anyway? (commented out or otherwise)

he was answering a legit question. i found it quite informative.
and if my karma wasn't bad because of our wonderful mods, i would have modded him as such.

i prefer apt-get personally. Emerge is ok, but the same commands with rpm just comes off ugly and unnatural
Don't people who do write software want people who don't know how to write it to still use it?
I'm a typical web admin, so can i really afford to take time to write all the scripts to make this work? Hell no.
that said, do i still want to use it? ABSOLUTELY!

just brilliant. What a great way to entice the MS users of the world to switch ro an FOSS solution! Fanatical support from people who care!/sarcasm
I ran it on my inspiron 8200 (p4-1.6ghz, 256mb ram, nvidia geforce2 go 32mb) with ubuntu-breezy ar 1024x768 and was floored by the 50+ FPS steady. It peaked around 70 at one point.
having been used to almost no games working decently under linux, this is a breath of fresh air.
This actually inspired me to pick up Cedega and try out just about every game i own, with interesting results. It's about time gaming got decent for linux!

In other words, you have to have more resources to publish information, which is how existing print media has always worked.
And look how well that's worked out, with a few major media companies profiting off of everything via the 'trickle-up' effect.
We forget about the greatest NAV bug-fix of them all...
The Uninstall command.
People swore we would have a 3D web
We do. It's called 'The Sims Online'
What i'd like to see is a dual core video card where 1 processor handles the only the physics, the other handles everything else.

the core developers left Mambo and are building Joomla.
Your best bet is to backup your Mambo DB and switch while they're still compatible
Right now is a good time to switch, in the future the differences will be too great to make it a simple task.
Also, that worm affected the mambo 4.5.x branch was patched in Joomla 1.05 but not in Mambo (afaik)

imho, apt-get is like butter, where rpm feels more like a hammer
