    Oh you idiot you! Check your homework...
    Xerox allowed Apple to look at their setup because the wanted (and got) shares in Apple.
    do you really think they would let someone peek at their goodies without getting something for it.

  2. Re:Just not the same [Forget the other reply] on iTunes Expands In Europe · · Score: 1

    Sooo wrong. I've got contact with Apple Belgium and they are just powerless against Apple Europe which is ruled by a Cupertino based. They know zilch about Belgians and their musical behaviour

  3. Just not the same on iTunes Expands In Europe · · Score: 4, Interesting

    Some stuff that bothers me in iTMS Belgium:
    - our music selection is a fraction of that of the US
    - people in Belgium also speak Dutch (63% of them) and German. French is cool, but not everyone understands it.
    - we are all the fun categories? House, Techno, Lounge, Acid?
    - World music? Where's our own Helmut Lotti (yech!!)

    Hmm, even Duke Nuke is on Mac. Even the newest is being ported.

    Hey, i am a hardworking sob (weblanguage, javaprogramming, office, photoshop, Motion (! beat that!)) but i luv to play games hard!
    -> Battlefield 1942
    -> American Army
    -> Medal Of Honor
    -> Call of Duty

    I do think we lack a lot of good simulators after the demise of Falcon 4.0

    So, the Alienware is alien to me...

    But what if you fail a year? Do you have to trade in for a Class of 2009 iPod, etc? Or does this explain that US students graduate anyway, never mind if they never learned a thing and became world leaders with an IQ of an Urang Utang?

  6. Keep the Faith on Happy Birthday Mac OS X · · Score: 2, Interesting

    I am an Apple user since 1983, and even through the dark days (20 mac types in one year; corroded Copland, rushed Rapsody, ...) i kept the faith that one day Apple was going to make the a new statement telling the world it is again a player on the OS market.
    And that day was when MacOS X was released.

    Praise all people involved! From the iCEO to the employer that wraps the box.

  7. Re:Office vX in Belgium/Netherlands on Microsoft Plans to Create Local Language Software · · Score: 1

    I don't get it: I am telling you that a lot of non-technies want to do wordprocessing in their own language (dutch in my reply) and are driven in the hands of Windows; but you reply that everyone knows English and blahblah.

    That's not the point!!! Even though i only work in English OS and type on a QWERTY, does not mean i look with mispraisal to a 50+ wannabe computer user for wanting to use programs in Dutch.

    Can you imagine these people following a dutch course in wordprocessing ("Tabulatiebladen aanmaken") and then having to look for it in an English version? They will go for the all dutch solution my Coward friend.

    Stop ranting about programming in other languages then english, that's like kicking in open doors: We know.

  8. Office vX in Belgium/Netherlands on Microsoft Plans to Create Local Language Software · · Score: 1

    I hate really hate the attitude of Micro$oft:

    a Dutch translation of the Macintosh version of Office was deemed uneconomical.
    So a lot of dutch-speaking Belgians and Dutch people were (and are) reluctant to buy a Macintosh because the only application they need (...under pressure of peers...) is not in their native tongue.
    This in turn dampens the sales of Office vX in Benelux.

    And now they feel the heat of the community, they 'appear' to solve the problem, but i guess they will only allow translation of Wintel products.
