You have misread that passage, he is telling a parable of a man with many servants whom he entrusted with Talents (gold) and how the man said he would take those who had been unfaithful to him and slay them.
Jesus never advocated killing anyone, if you wish to equate the division of the faithful and unfaithful on judgement day with a call to kill those who oppose Jesus before that day, well that I would say that is your call... but you would be wrong.
"And as for religious texts such as the Bible or the Qur'an, the violence preached in them does condition people to behave violently"
If you are talking about the old testament I would agree, the new testament (christian teachings) does not preach violence, in fact the exact opposite.
Of course many horrid things have been done in the name of christianity but the same could be said about freedom or democracy.
Why the difference for GTA? Just curious.. I don't see any difference in the GTA compared to the other games and i've played all of them... they all have graphic violence and level of sexual scenes/images (if you've seen some of the "wall sprays" in CS you'll know what I mean)?
The more a company focuses on keeping it's employee's happy and pleasing (building products for and support the) customers the better it does...
Competition between companies helps the customers in a secondary way (better products, cheaper prices) but that is a side benefit.
Is it that hard to see that when your customers are a second priority and are treated like "consumers" (aka mindless money machines) that the company will suffer?
Apparently so, when articles like this are so eye opening they deserve special attention...
What are the future CEO's learning in their high profile colleges anyway?
In revelations it talks about a big "star" falling from the heavens that killed many people and a third of life on the planet.. could this be an accurate prediction of a future impact? Everytime this topic comes up I am reminded of this prophecy...
The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters.
11 The name of the star is called "Wormwood." One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

I tried to install FC6 on an old opteron box here at my work, the installer locked up everytime, FC5 installed without a hitch.. even did the media check in case the iso was corrupt..
"I tell people its like cancer, you never can get it all."
Usually if you know enough about windows and the way the viruses/malware attack the OS you CAN clean it all off, it is a matter of how much time to do you want to spend cleaning it VS how much time it would take to re-install the OS and programs/restore files...
My cut off point is about 3 hours, this is also why I like to make ghost images of the OS after a fresh install and patch job, that way you cut down your time considerably for the next clean (to go full hog setup a backup routine for a root folder and have the user use that folder only for critical file storage).
For IT shops repairing home PCs, it almost makes sense to install a new drive, load the OS image, then restore files from the old drive VS the cost of 50+ an hour to try and clean the infected OS... Hmm that sounds like a good business plan.
"when someone claims they killed/attacked someone because God told them to do it, the bible isn't blamed?"
Your saying the bible isn't being blamed for thousands of years of bloodshed? Your point would seem to disagree with the major selling point of most atheists...
"If you can come up with a plan that can even come close to implementing that, they I'd love to hear it. "
Remove personhood, problem solved.
"However, since these people that that you speak of happen to own/run/are employed by/profit from said horrible corporations, they are more or less inseparable for all practical purposes."
If corporations were not "persons" they would be seperable and able to fight back with their votes.
You don't see anything wrong with corporations dictating what is legal in their professional AND personal lives?
"He/she may not really have to "work" that much at the corporation because they will be out wining and dining/funding politicians with their "personal finances" in their "spare time.""
There are already personal financial limits of how much you can contribute. Limiting this to 100 dollars would work just fine.
"You essentially "vote" for corporations and their underlying politics any time you purchase their products."
Which is the only thing they should care about, let the free market sort it out, if they want more money they should provide something their customer wants, not pay politicians to legislate ways for them to print money (like net neutrality).
"What business owner wouldn't want to contribute a decent percentage of that potential swing to "help" Bob?"
Well the whole point is that politicians should be looking out for the wellfare of the people, not souless corporations. Frankly I don't care how political decisions will negatively effect corporations, I want the considering factor to be "what does the populace think/want".
If 500,00 thousand people help get larry elected because they want protection from that particular CEO's widget, then good.
Parent's suggestion of removing personhood from corporations is actually a really good point and would solve a host of current problems we face.
I think like most endeavors, potential leaders start off trying to help to people but as time goes on they are either corrupted by the power they are given or become disillusioned by the corruption that already exists...
There are "some" politicians that can resist and for the most part do a really good job, the problem is they are in the minority and end up having no "real" power to effect change.
yah but negligible over a few KM doesn't mean much when talking about lightyears of distance, which the point of this "time traveling" signals is based.
If the signal is indeed instantaneous, over the distance of say 10 light years, then that WOULD be faster than the speed of light and thus (from Einstein's theory) should be able to travel in reverse time.. no?
What i'm saying is there doesn't seem to be a way to test this beyond theory since light travels at 299,792,458 m/s we would be talking about pico seconds even at 10 KM and that would be in the margin of error no?
"I'm a Linux guy with a Thinkpad. But I can't for the life of me see what all of this is based on. People are routinely calling Apple users cult members, elitist, arrogant, immature, unprofessional.."
Do you know anyone who uses a Mac? "Cult member" is quite accurate, the way my mom talks about Apple makes me want to throw her in a van and drive to a farm house for deprogramming...
I just upgraded 2 systems, replacing the video cards, motherboards and processors. Spent 700 bucks (after taxes and shipping) I didn't have to upgrade the hard drives, ram, network components, audio, or cases. I saved about 5-600 dollars. What does a new mac cost nowadays?
BTW I will be able to play all of the bleeding edge games and programs on both systems. One of them is now dual core and has a 7900GT (one of the latest and greatest vid cards).
"If I hear any more god damned grandstanding from the winners, I'm going to puke"
Wow, the day after the election (less than 11 hours no less) and you are already sick of all of the "grandstanding from the winners".
Well too fucking bad, I have been hearing "sore losers" and "mandate" for 2 fucking years now, I can stand a little glee at being able to hold people/republicans responsible again, so why don't you shut the fuck up and sit your ass down for at _least_ a week while people who have had their faces bitten off for sticking up for themselves against a republican onslaught enjoy their victory.
Good thing they will never fail to be controllable, I mean I have plenty of electronics that are 20+ years old and working fine without solar radiation...

No you can just snipe at SAS and SEAL team members. Difference?
Or is it something about killing Special forces officers is more noble than hookers or drug dealers?

is that you maddox?

Rootkit revealer also help to show rootkits or at least alert you to the presence of same...
When dealing with killings that revolve around religon they sure as heck do...
"and RR says they can't do anything about it."
Of course they CAN do something about it, they just choose not to, something about profit margins i'm sure...

How could they possibly know this? I can believe theorize this, but how could they possibly get enough distance to know this happens "immediately"?
Can it cure my penis envy?
Having my phallus drawn in huge proportions even in 16 or even 8bit should offer some relief... no?

They want you to watch ads 23/6 and spend that last hour and day buying the products advertised.
