Okay, I'm/was a SETI user also. However, I still think that there is plenty of evidence to support that we have yet to find intelligent life on this planet, or another.
How about Matrox? Are they still in business?
Haven't heard anything from them for ages....
Thats because nobody could figure out how do get their Linux drivers to work and post anything!
Okay, my little rant is over. I absolutely loved my Matrox Parhelia when I was a Windows user. Then when I left Windows, I tried to keep the Parhelia. Matrox's non-Windows support is poor. Jumping ship to nVidia was a good decision, though Matrox does make great hardware.
"I'm almost expecting their next OS to have a use-by date embedded in their EULA and OS to FORCE you off their old system after so many years.... or else!"
I can see it now...'Thank you for activating Microsoft(r)(c)(we own you) Longhorn. Best before....well, who are we kidding? You now have 90 days until you have to pay us more money.'
"AFAIK, even though a couple of European countries on the ECHELON project have admitted their membership, the U.S. government continues to deny such a thing even exist"
"What 'U.S. government'?" "We cannot either confirm nor deny that this 'U.S. government' even exists."

"'They suffer the consequences of their inaction and/or ignorance? God forbid we expect people to be responsible for themselves...'
Are you really that heartless? Do you think it's good for society to have tens of thousands of elerly people and children starving and homeless? It's too bad they didn't save, or perhaps it's too bad their investments went sour, or they were swindled, or some other circumstance you're not considering. But it's a disgusting to deny help to those who need it because you're deciding not the rest of the population isn't as well off as you are."
This is also why those of your point of view typically only consider evolution a 'theory'. Evolution is real, and it is even observable at work in your description above.
2.8 GHz P4 w/ 760Mb RAM (Intel i854G Graphics) on XP and the program is responding well. The paint brush maxed out is fine and recolor is almost instaneous.
Screen does flicker some, but for free, a great improvement over paint!
My only experience with the PII in the last few years have been carting them off as waste!
I'm sure I could have had this market cornered if only I had saved them. And yes they worked, but typically the machines were economically totaled and did not warrant any use of funds for refurbishing.

" ...exactly how does MS plan to check piracy? What conditions are being checked?"
They'll be on the lookout for a peg leg and eye patch.
Can Sun run 'emerge from debt'?
Perhaps even cron 'profitability'??
I wouldn't suspect these to be related specifically to FF. Sounds like something specific to your hardware or OS configuration (misconfiguration).
Absolutely no problems with FF on Linux at home or XPSP2 at work with the listed pages.
Crashing apps happens all the time in XP, so it kind of hard to diagnose that as being specific to any one application.

"...and b) The majority of stupid computer users will use Windows."
Mod Parent Up! +1 Insightful
Who else? It's Elmer!
Yes, that waskely wabbit will have a day off as Elmer FUD comes to the Fedora Project with insight and strategies for the Community.
Nope. That's a TWO BUTTON mouse, making the video useful and required for Apple users.
(I'm buying my first Mac this month, so this is not meant to be inflammatory)
5 posts and it's already Slashdotted!
I guess cooltechzone.com is running on the mini BTX PCs.

Now that IBM will no longer be making the wonderful Thinkpads, Wal-Mart has sprung this piece of quality upon the market.
"Your current wait is expected to be two hours, twenty-five minutes...."
I prefer to look at this weeks stock performance about the news....
"What about if you throw in KDE or GNOME, Mozilla, etc, everything that you'd have to add to really equal the features of Windows XP...."
Then you would have a buffer overflow!
"..AOL puts your Windows installation at considerable risk."
So how is this different than the default install of Windows?
You forgot 50% of all binary code!
0 is for 02
"An independent team is looking into how the food inventory ended up being tracked so poorly and how it can be improved in the future."
Was the food inventory kept on a MySQL database? Maybe even an Access one?
(unfortunately)
He said "2.10" not 2.1.0

Certainly not a bad product....back in it's day.
FreeBSD [a la Darwin] with Aqua on top.
A.K.A. "Mac OX X"
