On something like Nokia 770 or Communicator or some S60 symbian device vi is infinitely better than emacs over SSH connections simply because you never need control or alt keys.
Vi is perfectly usable over GPRS connection using a virtual keyboard + touchscreen. Typing in ctrl-sequences requires much more work.
I used Emacs/Jed for 12 years but have now more and more found myself in vi(m).
A former work buddy who used marijuana (and also other crap so he's not the perfect example) told me that while living in USA it was easier for a minor to acquire marijuana than booze.
That strikes me as odd. One is an illegal substance, the other is not. Oh well. Catholics.
Omega Particles were used earlier in Star Trek. TNG or Voyager. Create one and KABLOOIE.
A bit like in LEXX... all civilizations are destined to find this new particle. If they try to measure its mass: KABLOOIE.
If they overpopulate and cannot feed themselves, then feeding them with foreign money only worsens the problem. They will overpopulate more until eventually there WILL be famine. It's not a given RIGHT to recklessly multiply and expect someone to come to aid.
Best let the population self-regulate its size to manageable levels. Just stop feeding for 20 years and check the outcome.
The only working form of development aid is education. Education will drop birth rate, improve living conditions etc.
If the user is stupid enough to buy Winblows, he/she deserves what he/she gets.
-1 troll, blaablaa, but that's the fact of life - users of proper operating systems have to deal with NONE of this crap.
If it HAS to be windoze, just get thin clients and run it off servers. After every class re-image the client disks. Do not connect it to external networks. Then nuke from orbit, level the building and spread salt. The only way to be sure with XP.
Eudora version 7.x still does not have correctly working UTF-8 support. The LDAP support is hard to use, and IMAP is really flaky.
On top of that, version 7 introduced bugs that sometimes destroy mailbox indexes (that's why Eudora nowadays keeps multiple backups of everything). HTML formatted messages sometimes crash the whole thing. Its "fast indexing" sometimes hangs. The junk mail filter is abysmally bad. Sometimes perfectly fine filter rules cease to function. And so on.
It was good, cheap software, but started to show its age in late 90's.
With 2000/XP, _every_ WLAN-card, graphics card and sound card seems to have different configuration utility. The XP wireless zero configuration is of no help since it sucks and does not work well with many cards.
Will these FINALLY be replaced by consistent, generic configuration tools offered by the OS, the drivers just sitting somewhere there behind a sane API, Linux-style? Explaining WLAN configuration stuff to Windows users is painful because every case is different.
Nokia has sold those paper, rubber, cable parts of itself long ago.
While on vacation in Italy I was constantly amazed by their TV. So. Bad.

First some crap clients allow easy tunneling of torrents through tor network (http://tor.eff.org/), nearly choking it, and now this.

Nah, Vulcan lifespan is like 200 earth years. T'Pol is long since dead.
Why not just put a linuz router with wondershaper in between?
The man was a genius.
I'll start distributing "Vista - The Non Child Molester version". All the other Vista versions are pedobear-approved.
Just make the peripheral driver run a check on the card firmware before activating it.

Win 95 / 98 ran the CPU hot while the machine was idling. n * 100 * million * hours * power consumption -> many power plants heating the atmosphere.
3-4 bittorrent/bittornado instances eat all available CPU cycles even on modern desktop puters, whereas Azureus can run twice at many at 5% CPU usage.
Just drop a giant ice cube in the ocean every now and then, thus solving the problem once and for all. Once and for all!
IE7 is M$ and Winblows-only, so it is not newsworthy at all. It only runs on crap spamstations.

EULAs are not contracts. They are not legally binding. They are useless annoyances with no weight at all.
The new strict immigration policy of Netherlands is GOOD. Everyone sees it except some leftwing hippie liberals.

Bah, better to forget the rest of the series. Enterprise was fun and T'Pol was hot.
It offers nothing, is closed and DRM-infested. The user experience is no better than before.
Not installing this patch is a method of circumventing the DRM.
