Due to high winds, the show has been rescheduled to 7/5 in the AM and is open only to DoD card holders and family per their website/Twitter post:

Are you on a F-1 (student) visa? If so, check out Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) as options. It will help you immensely to get in touch with your university's international students department (may be called something different depending on your university). They will be able to help you verify if those options will work for you or not.
Can't help you with the wireless card not working, but do a sudo -s on a terminal window, enter your current account password and take a look at/boot/grub/menu.lst. There should be a default entry in there which you can change...
I was in a very similar situation to the poster when I came here. Had been working in India for over 3 years. Always wanted to pursue grad. studies. I came to the US in Fall 2001 to San Jose State. Its a great school and have learnt a whole lot. Initially I had all these qualms about whether I made the right choice quitting a nice cosy well-paying job (was working with GE at the time) to pursue further studies.
End result - couldn't be more satisfied in life. Don't get me wrong!! It IS a risk... but then, nothing ventured nothing gained. I now have a graduate degree (how many people have Schwarzenegger giving them an MS CS degree? Yeah its signed by him:) ) and a much better paying and higher skill-level job.
I say do it!!
1) Would you like a fast, stable and easy to use desktop for newbies and a powerful Unix based OS for pros?
2) Permanently get rid of adware/spyware/virus related problems?
3) Lessen the chances of my computer getting 0wned?
All this without getting tied to proprietary
hardware...
Many more can be added here but you get the point.
HELL YEAH!!!
Fully agree with parent. I considered my self a newbie-intermediate user with RH. Now I'm back to being a newbie with so many things to learn;-) (I mean that in a good sort of way)
Have you heard of the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), sir? Look up their rankings by international educational bodies. Trust me the education standards in Asia are as much as if not better than the US.
Also look at the number of US tech companies that have been co-founded by Indians/Asians and are providing jobs to thousands of Americans over here...
I don't understand why Asians are being blamed for taking away jobs when it is American companies that are sending them over?
Would you, under any circumstance, refuse a job offer in your country just because the company that's offering it is from another? What exactly is the fault of the people taking those jobs and your reason for generalizing them as corrupt?

The movie coming to reality? Hopefully not.
I wonder what kind of effect this would have on the service?
I for one welcome our grad. school applying overlords...

There's the art of computer programming for many programmers I know of...

Guess Bush finally found his WMD... In other news Saddam Husein starts dancing hysterically in his cell...
Hell... I thought this was for inflatable rubber dolls...
Hey... I didn't know Chief Hiawatha read /. !! Welcome...
Don't forget the latest!! Alien vs. Predator? Hell the reviewer said "Three thumbs up - one for each race" :)
Does this mean I can't run Bonzi, Gator, Kazaa and Alexa at the same time?? What are those poor people going to do??
The intro flash movie they insist upon showing you each time you install the OS. Has to qualify for most irritating if not the worst..
Here's a related article. Me thinks this is a good thing!!
It was actually outsourced but hidden from public till now. How'd you think it got so good?
I thought this thread was about building yet another "better" office suite...
Yet another way of getting your ass busted by RIAA!!
Wonder how you came up with such a precise figure for something that seems to be more subjective...

Given how many times MS has talked about cross-compatibility of Office one has to wonder why that document itself is PDF???
