    They might pay the company on the condition that the company go after adobe. 10 or 20 billion is nothing to MS but it would crush adobe like a grape.

    I don't know about everybody else but what would you get by suing mono? Who would pay you and how much could you get out of them?

    Anyway MS will pay. They have to because they will be suing people for patent infringement soon. If anything they will purchase this patent and sue other people with it.

    1) Samsung has just admitted that it is distributing products which infringe on MS patents.
    2) This agreement is for a limited time.

    Once this agreement runs out MS will be able to sue Samsung and it will have an ironclad case because samsung has admitted that it is violating MS patents.

    Anybody who uses Linux or likes linux should make a promise right now to never buy or use another MS product again. Not even a mouse.

    For the love of god people there are at least a half a dozen exchange replacements and they all work with outlook if you are addicted to that bloated pig of a usablity nightmare.

    I think at one time Turkey wanted to be in the EU but I don't think that's true anymore. I think Turkey now realizes that EU does not want a muslims country in their club and that they would be better of trying to form some sort of a union with other turkic countries in the region most of whom have cultural ties (and oil).

    This is different. This is the new MS strategy known as "pay people to use your products". They are doing it with their search engine too. They are offering to pay corporations money to make their employees use the live search engine.

    They have more money then they have interesting and compelling products so it may work for them although it's an oddball tactic. Paying people to use your products I think I missed that on econ 101.

    If you have ever been to australia you would know that racism is rampant over there. Not just against aboriginals but also muslims and all kinds of "pacific islanders" (meaning assorted brown people).

    There are a couple of phrases that must be written in the big book of astro turfing put out by the MS PR firms.

    There is no other explanation for the verbatim posts but all MS fan boys and shills. Look at the grandparent for example. Have you heard those phrases before? I have. Nearly word for word repeated by at least a dozen employees and official spokespeople.

    They must get together and chant those phrases or something I swear.

    Does it support arbitrary data? In zabbix for example I can create a data point called "number_of_databases_backed_up" and send it to the zabbix server using a simple XML or socket based call and have zabbix chart them for me.

    The US has the best legal system money can buy. If you have money you can buy any result you like.

    In this case the RIAA has a lot of money so no judge in the country is going to smack them down for suing children. In fact the judges are going to rule against the child in a summary decision because the kid can't afford a lawyer and will not show up in court because nobody gave them a ride.

    Remember SCO v IBM? Yea, just like that.

    It doesn't matter. They already reversed themselves on their most important pledge and that is to leverage their patents against anybody who sues an open source project for patent violation.

    They will no longer come to the defense of open source projects if MS sues them and that's what MS was after all along. MS has already gotten the same kind of deal from Sun. If they can get IBM they will be done.

    There is an open source project inspired by VFP but based on python. It's called Dabo http://dabodev.com/ . Check it out if you are interested in getting on board with something that isn't obselete.
