True that there are ppl who feels X should evolve

I really wished I had known about Linux ages ago and not MS technologies ...

I am sure I would be more employable (Java,Oracle,Perl,Ansi C, VA Smalltalk .. etc), more knowlegeable and happier.

To have accumulated C#,MS Office VBA,ASP,Transact-SQL for me its nothing short of an embarrasment.

Should I do it GPL, should I make it proprietory?
I mean, I wouldn't feel guilty receiving money from bankers, solicitors and accountants :)

I need a lead, I will wait for his email
But the app will be UK version - (do they change much?).

Message me with ideas, if you want, I am serious.
The only thing stopping me from doing it - if its way highly complex (for one person to make).
Hope it works out cos I love doing real apps and this one will be in Linux (way too cool).

But it figures now why such difference of opinions.

MFC's, API's all Microsoft technology, which changes ever so rapidly DOS->API->ATL->MFC->ActiveX->COM+->.NET->Whitdbey( ?) .. [something like that, not an expert here]
so any accumulated experience just goes down the drain.

No disrespect seriously, but that is why I started hating Microsoft, because it didn't matter what I've learnt and specialized in, they would move to something else and "Oh sorry you don't know our latest crappy DNA++ technology? Can't hire you".

Even macro VBA code changes entirely each version!
    It's like playing catch.
Bet it's done purposely to churn out more books, courses, software, processors, etc ..

Now it *seems* at least with Linux and ANSI C++, experience does matter, 10 or 12 years matters a lot.
Someone that programmed 12 years ago in X windows, would still be able to do something now. But a Microsoft developer of 12 years ago? Mmm .. definitely not

    I tried learning Eiffel.
Really liked the concept, its not that hard.
And definitely much prettier/neater than the grotesque C# (which am not proud to admit is the language I program in most)
Eiffel code is heavily based on structured English, ok it won't go as far as Revolution whose syntax is 100% English.
Eiffel code is very object-orientated but not as bizarre as Smalltalk which vows to be easy but most people finds it the opposite.

Eiffel seems to produce very safe code, because of contracts .. so, of what I understood, you are force to debug/test each time you write a new class and function. If your project finishes - your app should be incredibly stable - so no more BugBuddies or CrashHandlers :)

Eiffel's code seems like documentation, because of the tags.

Real shame I couldn't play with it more - but seriously, it's just a hunch, Eiffel is a very powerful language. And for many things it can make a difference ... Java, C# and C++ (specially) just begs for crashing apps.
