For *tiny* applications ASP is ideal, you can edit run-time. For *big* applications you really can't use ASP unless you have your own dedicated server. Many separate logic from presentation by using Components, some even use WebClasses.
I suspect most huge website using ASP uses components and MTS.
I seriously wished I knew JSP. It seems to be better than ASP / ASP.NET / PHP by many leaps and bounds.
ASP however, seems ideal for the quick website though, you can put something up (searches, email forms, etc) in a matter of minutes.

Although I didn't necessarily smelt death in the face, I nevertheless feel uncomfortable sharing the possibility I could be there experiecing these horrible events in person.

Only with Opera (on Linux haven't tried my Windows version yet) Anyway, if the same happens on Windows - then it is clearly very personal. Vendetta even. Someone must upsetted Microsoft real bad - way more than any other browser company could.

A lot of distro-zealots would rather you have their favourite distro - like adding another fan to their favourite football team.
What matter is that which is best for each individual.
And more often than not - that is not our best-loved Linux distro.
My feeling is that Puppy Linux is the best Linux for your machine and to start of with.
It is a Linux distro very strong on tutorials and low-spec machines.

SVG would be great, but any would do even BMP/GIF/JPEG/PNG.

I found the keyword "Linux" on a second page "Technical Specifications"
I've ran into something similar before.
A system which was built around Linux but you can't see the word "Linux" being mentioned.
And when it comes to synchronizing - it only uses Microsoft Windows - thus even implying the system was built around the same.
"Linux" is becoming a taboo word - since they believe it implies user-unfriendliness and inflexibility.
The companies not only take but give nothing back, they feel "ashamed" of mentioning the free OS.
