say a drill bit breaks off inside?
My grandmother has several pieces of drillbit stuck in her wrist from sugeries. Fancy RFID technology isn't helpful there.
I work with two os2 machines (one warp, the other is version 3), one old Mac (os 7 or so), one OS X, several flavors of Windows(95, 98, 2000, and XP), linux and unix. This is the joy of working in a research lab. You buy a piece of equipment and use it til it dies and usually that equipment is tied to an os. So we keep the ancient mac for a specialized scanner, we keep the OS 2 machines for confocal microscopes, keep the windows 95 machine for a different confocal microscope. Lets just say I have learned a lot about keeping things going past their prime.
I have been running some verision of linux (red hat, suse, ubuntu, gentoo) for about four years now. It is amazing the number of heads that turn when you mention that you run a dual boot of linux and you are a girl. I like linux and I think everyone should try some flavor.
One of my favorite memories was when I was discussing what distro was best with a girlfriend of mine and her roomate came into the room and said "I never thought I would hear two girls yell about which distro is best". But I think that is what happens when you hang out in the CSci building too long.
I had a friend in college once pay me back with 10 cans of playdough.
The only problem is that everyone wanted to play with my playdough.
Damn roomates.
You are lucky, they have been chalking our campus for weeks with phrases like:
"We love OneNote you will too!"
"Download OneNote at...."
They chalked the side of a building with a giant heart and wrote one note inside.
It is like a giant insane love affair that no one cares about besides the people pushing OneNote.
Nothing is ergonomic for me.
When I was young I broke and screwed up my right arm (my radius and ulna ended up fused at one end, thus no twisting motion). Ergonomic is actually worse for me because it causes me to bend out my arm at a weird angle and mousing left handed just feels weird since I am right handed. Thus I am doomed.
