    the italian ruling upon modchiops sounds too good to be true

    The chips "avoid monopolistic positions and improve the possibilities for use of the PlayStation," according to the ruling, which described Sony's attempts to limit the uses of the PS2 as "absurd," pointing out that the console cannot play titles from other geographic regions or home-made software products.

    The decision was focused on an interpretation of Italian law relating to a company's right to limit the use of its products once they have been sold, with the final conclusion being that "the product's owner can use it as they see fit".

    "It's a little like Fiat marketing its cars while banning them from being driven by non-European citizens or outside towns," the court commented.

    Video on demand has been the "next big thing" for at least the last 10 years

    VoIP has also been the next big thing for the last ~10 years ... and this year is THE big thing!

    Nobody seems to want video on demand, and nobody managed to create a market for it.

    until last year ~nobody seemed to want to pay for downloading music ... now there is iTunes

    and the conclusion - the earth is round ... and gates may or may not be right .. you just CAN'T DECIDE at this moment !
    and btw, if movie studios decide to replace the DVD with somethin else, it'll dissapear in less than 10 years ... how many VHS tapes did you buy lately?

    Everywhere around me people are throwing out Windows, replacing it with Mac OS X or Linux. Internet Explorer is slowly losing market share. A general awareness of alternative platforms is beginning to progress.

    Security of any product usually requires the user of the product to keep up to date and aware of problems.

    i also fully agree with the good old "no user, no cry" .. and i hope bob marley's producer does not have a copyright on that

    most of the answers modereated up around here are only wishful thinking .. people just love to fool themselves into "firefox is safer", no matter what ...lets see some samples

    i wont bet a single cent on that ... plus this is like saying : i know i eat approximately the same shit as the other party, but im way better because mine gets no attention.

    it may be so .. but it sounds like : i live in an appartment building and its administrator's fault that any burglar can break into my appartment bare handed... so easy to blame "the other guy"

    and so on.. and so on.
    going mainstream was not exactly benefic to firefox ... i use it since the first version and this week i got the first pop-up and pop-under windows that somehow managed to slip through firefox' block mechanism ... and now this embarrasing flaw .. sadly, it seems that going mainstream its enough to evaporate the "security" of ANY application.

    those are completely different types of humor ... while the circus-clown like humor of Benny Hill exercises your face and stomac muscles, watching a Monthy Python movie could be an exhausting but quite rewarding activity for your brain .. i find them both appealing and high-quality

    Sudan, a country with a history of persecuting, torturing and massacres within its own borders and supported by the government, was voted into the U.N. Human Rights Committee...

    this only proves my point .. some people just don' understand what UN is!

    UN is first and foremost AN IDEEA - an ideea of worldwide unity, collaboration, peace, prosperity and so on ... SOME of its actions may be good and SOME may be bad - its an organization of human beings after all!

    to make it easy for you americans - saying "all of UN is bad" and "lets get rid of UN" because of some unfortunate incident, is like saying "all movies are crap" and "lets get rid of hollywood" because of Gigli ... or like saying "Operating Systems are a bad ideea" because of Windows95.

    hope its more clear now
