Let's not forget that the actual number of subscribers is cut drastically when you figure in the majority of players have more than two accounts...paid for by game time cards, purchased with isk (in game currency).
CCP sell game time cards for real money. Players sell these cards to each other for ISK. CCP does not survive on in-game currency, how could they?
It used to be the case that a very good driver would be able to stop quicker without ABS than with it - the system is a compromise between all the different conditions it has to encounter, dry roads, wet, snow, ice etc, whereas a human can adapt to the conditions.
The problem with this is that *everyone* thinks they are the aforementioned "very good driver", and that ABS is for all the other idiots that can't drive.
I don't know if the old "good driver being better than ABS" thing is true any more though, I find it hard to believe that the technology hasn't progressed over the years.
You've just made my day mate, thanks!
I heard from someone a while ago that they were being bought out by one of the big distilleries. I'm so happy to be wrong!
I've never seen this sort of scam in the UK - is it even legal here?
Am I reading this right - you buy a product at a certain price, then you have to send a form away to get some money back? Sounds ridiculous!
Yep, there's a whole slew of things you have to do to get the "vista approved" sticker on your game box. The main thing is running under a non-admin account.
Of course you can still release windows games that don't do this stuff, but I reckon everyone will want the sticker:)
You're quite correct - except my heli is a cheap chinese job, so it doesn't even have a cutoff for the LiPo, you just stop flying when you notice the revs drop.
What I meant to say, and probably didn't make clear in my original post, was that if a cheap "toy" helicopter and a £15 charger can manage to look after a LiPo battery, why on earth can't a really expensive computer? Someone's screwed up somewhere:)
I fly a model helicopter which uses a lithium polymer battery. It's subjected to some, er, inertial shocks now and again, and is also charged and discharged much harder than a laptop battery. It hasn't swollen up or failed like this, so why should expensive laptop batteries suffer "teething troubles"?
The Electron was also my first computer, my parents couldn't afford a BBC Micro.
My mother used to type in games from magazines - they'd never work first time due to some typo she'd made. The hours I spent afterwards trying to fix it led to my interest in programming - which now pays my bills:)
If it's done on a wall set aside for that purpose, fine. If you have the property owner's permission, fine. I don't like it, nor appreciate it as art, but it's none of my business when you have permission (or own the stuff you're painting).
My point is that your regard for graffiti as art does not give you the right to paint it on other people's stuff without their permission.
The voltage MUST be kept below the voltage of the battery
Err.. what? The voltage must be higher than battery voltage to charge it. That's why your car alternator kicks out about 13.5 volts while your car battery is 12V.
Obviously sticking 11KV across a battery is a Bad Thing, but you could have some funky electronics in the car to deal with that and bring it down to more sensible levels.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I just thought the point about the intrusion being labelled a terrorist act was a good one - that seems to happen a lot these days. "OMFG he's a terrorist! Lock him up!!! EEK!"
We could go a bit further off topic if you like though - how's the weather where you are?;)
I'll second what myurr said - I test drove a smart roadster a while ago.
Looks cool, really nice handling around the corners (ok, less of a concern for you americans:P), fun little turbocharged engine, and the worst gearbox I have ever had the misfortune to use. He's not kidding when he says 3 seconds to change gear.
Don't be so harsh. In English it's "preventative" maintenance. I would guess in US English it's "preventive" (I didn't know that, so thanks)

I thought Bruichladdich was being bought by Grouse? Please please please tell me I'm wrong :)

Isn't there a delicious irony here - someone posting an attack on all of science, using a computer connected to the internet?

I have ad + flashblock installed because adverts look like shit.

Do you hear that whooshing noise over your head? That's called a joke.

Hmm.... I'll keep an eye on the forums, when people stop whining about the lag, I might resurrect my account :)
Have they fixed the lag yet? I used to love that game, but then they kept bringing out expansions and it all went wrong.
I guess we're never going to agree mate, I suggest we leave it there :)
So being too poor to buy your own stuff entitles you to use other peoples' stuff to paint on?
Sarcastic comments like that do nothing to refute what I said. Or would you mind if I painted what I regard as art on your stuff?
You call it art, I call it vandalism.
If it's done on a wall set aside for that purpose, fine. If you have the property owner's permission, fine. I don't like it, nor appreciate it as art, but it's none of my business when you have permission (or own the stuff you're painting).

No it doesn't.
That's my opinion, you have yours. Both opinions are irrelevant.
It's not your stuff. Stop fucking painting shit on it.
Whereas caesium, with it's whole "explode violently on contact with water" thing is completely safe ;)

Why is that modded redundant? The guy has a point, and I can't see it made elsewhere, so how can it be redundant?
