Just think of John Doe's Foo-Bar-Factory. They sure had some ancient applications, maybe now relaced by more modern systems and they suddenly feel the need for accessing some of the old data.
But hey! Where's this PDP-7, didn't we dump it a decade ago? Is there still anyone that can operate one (or even know where ther is still a working one...)
You see what I mean? Sooner or later all the data gathered today and yesterday will be worthless without staff that have knowlegde in vintage Hard- and Software.
Just remember the Y2K-bug. Lots of retired engineers have been reactivated to revise their old code and/or hardware...

Linus seems to be impartial about SuSE and RH. I read a recent interwiev where he stated that he uses RH at work and SuSE at home.
They work against themselves! Ignoring the wishes of customers is something that good businessmen should try to avoid. If I don't get what I need and what I pay for I leave it and buy anything else.
BTW, it's particulary sad that Toshiba did this decision, because I already asked my boss to get me one of them, but it has to run Linux, too. And: the European models are produced here in Regensburg/Germany and quite a few friends wort there and they like it.

Mine e.g. prefers to play such games as Tetris, Minesweeper and the like! Such games can easily be had on any Unix.
The more participate the more succes a project has!

Thats the old "freedom of choice" thingy!
Since Window Maker supports the KDE-Hints, this is a great compromise. I also have the panel switched on.
Just replace "kwm&" by "wmaker&" in the startkde script. Works fine for me.
