  1. Such BS on Bluetooth on an Airplane? · · Score: 1

Really this is mostly BS. Any well designed system will have shielding and be fairly secured from interference. One of the real reasons this ban (and the existing bans in hospitals) was created was so they could charge you outrageous prices for using their in-flight phone services.

If the problem was really that serious the FAA wouldn't be considering lifting the ban on cell phones in planes. I know that cell phones can put out tons of interference but most of the interference is in the short range (under maybe 10 ft or so). Also you industry people, you sound like a bunch of broken records, get off your high horses. You really don't know as much as you'd like to think you do.

Important question: By the "real" RPGs are you referring to all the SquareSoft RPGs that flooded the older Ninentdo Systems. (I am sure some of them were good, and others great but I hated RPGs until about four years ago)

Unless I am mistaken Sony stole Square away from Nintendo by paying them a TON of money to making Playstation and then PS2 only games. In the end Square wound up back with Nintendo and making good RPGs for Gamecube, or so I hear.

To be honest I still prefer my PC RPGs that I have played. Baulder's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic, Morrowind, and my only MMO, WoW.

One final thing, I think Nintendo is bound for some for of eventual hardware doom. Similar to Sega. The two companies who were making GREAT consoles before everyone owned a console really didn't/don't have the continual monetary power to compete against MS (who can pump money from a million places to feed XBox and flog a dead horse for as long as they want) or Sony (who can do a similar thing, heck aren't they still making PS1 games). Sadly if you have enough money to throw at crappy console (PS2 has the worst load times and most overrated Graphics EVER) you can keep it afloat until the masses buy into it because of a few good games (ie X-Box and Halo).

I will admit Season 4 has gotten better but it is too little too late. As for your comment on the movies declining post-Generations, go watch First Contact again. That is the best TNG film and only movie that comes close to Wrath of Khan in many peoples eyes, though I personally prefer Undiscovered Country myself.

Insurrection had considerably more potential and from what I've heard if you ask Frakes about it he'll probably bitch about Braga and Berman, though I don't know who hasn't. In the end those two let the franchise die a painful death post-DS9 and their only gleaming moments were a few surprises late in Voyager.

As for Dell they have always thrown tons of money at Advertising and I would dare say more than most other PC manufacturers with maybe the exception of IBM, though they typically target more business users in the ads it seems. To make things worse the internet is a HUGE place where avoiding the porn is a lot easier than some people think. If porn was such a horrid thing the industry wouldn't be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) in the US. The fact is people want to see people in erotic situations, sex sells. Ask a TV exec, if they could get away with it we'd probably have softcore on a Network channel by now.

Don't think I am letting the C/C++ programmers off either. I am one of them and I will be the first to admit I have hardly ever used java, but I have also had enough first-hand bad experience to not want to use it.

The fact is that people will stick with they know best and odds are whichever you learned first (java or c++) that will more than likely be the one you spend the majority of your time working with. So half the people can continue to rip on java now and the rest of you can praise it. I do digital design so I don't care enough about code to get into this argument.
