    Isn't most of the open-source software that Apple uses derived from BSD? If you don't like Apple's use of it, complain to the BSD people to change their license (good luck with that).

    The contribution seems limited to one module, whose inclusion is of value to Microsoft. If they tried to pull such a stunt, the kernel developers could just drop the module.

    yeah, i feel the same way about people who use the wrong "its".

    Linux was designed to be a monolithic kernel to run the GNU toolkit as a temporary solution while waiting on HURD.

    I don't believe that Linus Torvalds ever waited for HURD.

    Yes, I know most don't come with a floppy drive, but if you really want to hook one up, you still can with most systems (not all).

    I've had an external floppy drive with a USB connector. Do they make computers without USB ports?

    Fair enough, but is it easier to generate PDFs in such a manner than using Acrobat? How does one use Acrobat to generate PDFs? Is it pretty much like using a word processor?

    Okular is a document viewer; how does one create PDFs with it? One can convert LaTeX files to dvi to pdf, but some people might prefer making PDFs some other way.

    The term "Semitic" applies to peoples who speak a semitic language. This would include Jews and Arabs, but not the Iranians, as Farsi is Indo-Eurpean.
