    My Linux box with xine or mplayer running
    my favorite p*rn would be an example of a
    Mission critical system. I mean, imagine
    me sitting there all set and ready to go,
    and happens a system crash. You bet I'd
    describe that at best as a big letdown, and
    at worst as a situation where I'd really be
    f*cked.

    I have a 21" monitor and am running a TV app in a window 544x408 and the viewing angle of the screen is larger than my TV, which is 60cm across I believe. Plus sharper picture, better sound, no need to look away to a TV-set, less power usage having both PC and TV on -- need I say more? Using a PCTV Pinnacle Pro (nov.2003 model) on Linux.

    Your analogy fails.

    How popular would car leasing be if the leaser
    would be locked by long-term contract into filling up at let's say Shell-stations only -- no matter what the competition's price would be.

    This is just a ploy to render a knock-out to the FOSS community and FOSS consumers. If they succeed the consumer will be left without
    any options and choice -- plus prob. some hardware that will be like a big brother and policeman to you.
