    My question is, what product does this company sell that they can claim to have lost revenue on?
    Thes people are obviously "patent trolls". It's unfortunate, because as much as Slashdotters hate the idea of Intellectual Property, many people do believe that "innovators" should be compensated for their ideas.

    You need to be persistent and really work the "Undo" feature. Start a section on the "Discussion" page, and don't back down. Threaten to take it to Arbitration. Don't worry about being obnoxious and hard-nosed about it, this is the only thing that Wiki Assholes know how to listen to. And when they quote this Wiki proclamation or that Wiki proclamation, simply ignore them and keep driving your point, YOU MUST NOT WORRY ABOUT RUFFLING FEATHERS, these people are not your friends, lovers, or next-door neighbors. Fuck 'em.

    It is possible to win through attrition of interest in the fight. I have done so MANY times. And in reality, I don't give a shit about any of my edits, I just can't take these little tin Gods who validate their lives by "owning" some silly Wiki article.

    I do it all the time, I win 90% of the time because these assholes just can't keep it up like I can.

    Radio is typically a non-paid-for commodity. It's paid for by ads, but the users do not support it, they listen in for free.
    Listeners do not listen for free. They may not pay in cash, but they compensate the radio station in a real and valuable way by listening to the ads. People's time has value, and many people are compensated for it in non-monetary ways.

    But is this really true? She may not be "1337" but she does use with computers every day at work, and she knew enough to shit-can her hard drive after she got the RIAA nasty-gram. She said she never heard of KaZaA, but the evidence indicates that's not true, indeed her KaZaA user name was the same as her personal email.

    Just because the facts are not in despite (effectively proving somebody did something that violates the written letter of the law) does not mean that a jury must also be compelled to render a guilty verdict.

    Well, maybe so, but in this case, the defendant denied the accusation, so the facts where in dispute.

    Not connected unless it supports the idea of Global Warming, than it's connected. Pardon me, but for many years "they" have been saying a reduction in the ozone was a contributing factor to Global Warming. Has that changed?

    But there are actual real businesses, mostly outside the US but certainly some here as well, that are starting to understand that there are liabilities to running unpatched and unsupportable pirate copies of XP. They should and probably will jump at this.

    Even though it is not a cash cow Google, Microsoft and possibly Yahoo will be falling over themselves to buy for it's strategic value.
    I don't see that. Yes, Skype has a customer base, but such customers are not brand loyal. They add no value to the equation for Google or Yahoo because both know that they can develop a VOIP product and poach Skype customers for a lot smaller investment. Skype has little/no value to either player.

    I predict that within a year, Skype will be no more.

    The summary is a troll. It has nothing to do with "vindictiveness or obsessive interest in control". It has to do with the fact that Apple, a publicly traded company, feels that they can make more money licensing third party apps than allowing them by default. Really, people, it's that simple.

    And, why would anyone be surprised by this? It's very much in keeping with the way Apple has done business for years and years.

    Goverments will prefer to adopt the ISO standard than a non-standard format.

    I wish this where true, but it's not reality, I can't see how you can say it is. Facts are that many (perhaps even most) governments have "standardized" on Microsoft and Adobe. They may end up regretting it, but facts are facts.

    What makes you think OOXML will die? As long as most business uses MS Office, which is not going to change in the next ten or even 20 years, whatever format MS wants, they will eventually get.
