Exactly. Consider this. There are two theories to life (some would consider them mutally exclusive): creation and evolution.
If you believe in creation (like I do) you also believe in the bible, or at the very least the stories told by the bible. And it is full of violence.
If you believe in evolution (I believe in the science of it for sure) then there had to be quite a bot of violence in which the fittest survived. Unless Discovery has been airing misinformation, from what I've seen our current human species killed off the other species. I would consider this violent.
So violence isn't some modern day sickness. Possibly only some of the motives are modern. Children might as well be aware of the truth around them.
Disaster for you maybe. The goodwill part is still around. They just didn't want to offer support for it, so they gave it a different name. It is not a different distribution.
stick SELinux on your machine. It won't make you invincible, but it will sure cut down on the seriousness of any web based intrusion (in my experience at least).
Sorry, but I just don't get the usefullness of this. I see the cool factor, but now how someone would put it to good use. Can someone suggest examples?
I have yet to see why people are so hardpressed for this widespread Linux adoption thing. Would the Linux experience really be that much better for you and I if it became widespread?
As much as I believe RedHat is capable of making a desktop OS, they are not interested. I dare say they are far from cluelessl. If Dell had to pick a partner and I had an opinion, I would suggest either Redhat/Fedora, Suse or Linsire - and yes, in that order.
I do not think I understand your "wish" properly. Fonts aren't a problem for me, but I know this does mean that there is no problem. Could you better explain?
Faces require a lot more work to recognize, as I am sure you are aware. They also cannot be simply detected, they have to be sensed by an optical device first.
But that would be as compared to what? Windows? You pay for them to put it in to Windows? That is where Linspire would come in: if it is 3 commands too many, then pay the Linspire guys to do it for you. I am sure the Fedora guys would love to do it for you, but they abide by the laws.

touché!
If I were you, I wouldn't let others here me making comments like that.

Ok, well then I was wrong. I did infact understand its purpose. Sad.

Please, someone, tell me: what things does the average user do in Windows, that are fundamentally more difficult to do in a popular Linux distro?
Bloody hell, I totally aggree, I've been asking this question over and over.

I do not think Linux is what you think it is. You seem to refer to it as if it were some organisation dependant on income.
This implies the community aren't themselves users.
So you would rather that we wait for their to be a landfill problem?
Maybe your tv just wasn't big enough :)
The chess game at Yahoo Games is the first that came to mind for me. And I know that has been awhile for long.
True. But Microsoft + BSD Style Licence can lead to unfavorable implications.
I do not think I understand your "wish" properly. Fonts aren't a problem for me, but I know this does mean that there is no problem. Could you better explain?
Are you serious about this? Can it maintain table structure from a PDF too??
Dam tha was funny. I think I shed a tear or two luaghing.

In all fairness my friend, enabling mp3 support for Fedora/KDE is approximately 3 commands long.
I seriously wish they would move it to my country.
Sucks to be you!
