Nope, the reason is that warfare fills your mouth with food and your pockets with money. The rest of your comment is mostly trying justify yourself that you're a great guy and you're doing things necessary for the humanity.

If you work for a company that sells weapons, your inventions will be used to kill. It's that simple. Nobody wastes loads of money just to not use what they bought.

...Do sheetmetal workers lie awake at night worrying that the steel they cast that day might be used in the casing for a bomb?...

That is a fallacy. You should blame also the farmers for selling you food to keep your brain functioning... you're designing directly weapons, or support devices for ppl that carry weapons to kill. Period.

Actually, the screensaver could do a real damage on the Spam machine (and having in mind your comment, on Lycos itself). Keep in mind that half of the fools that would download the screensaver have their PCs acting as zombie relayers, so the screensaver would steal the bandwidth of the rootkits they've installed.

Flooding the spammers domains is absurd and uneffective.

I had axx to the comic, but I didn't want to go further the movie because of that. I hate half endings most of the time (there are others, however, that I like, such as K-PAX ending).

I assume that the comic is better than the movie, but at that time (say 1992, for example: I was 13 years old) I was not interested on the comic, once I saw the movie. These were good times: Fist of North Star, Dominion Tank Police, Akira, Urotsukidöji (if I remember the name correctly) and such. Nice viewings for a 12-14 years old boy ;)
