I wonder who the fuck is John Edwards. Starting with Kerry's answer to question #6, the phrase "John Edwards and I [will do Something Good]" appears on every one of them. It feels like a bondage slave...
C'mon... Lindows and Windows only differ on just the first char. And both are trademarks for an operating system, I think that M$ was right reclaiming their trademark rights - not to mention angry Lindows users that bought the thing because they thought that it was Windows compatible...
You and me know the difference, but my sister for example has no idea of what an operating system is whatsoever, not to mention things like compatibility and the concept of "many OSes"...
Nope, because you would have to name the viruses with female names. We the/.'ers have enough problems to get a girl, I don't wanna know what could happen if they think that we geeks are male chauvinists...
Looks like they goofed in one of the images, though--the arrow points to a different bright spot on the before-and-after image than it does on the main and annotated images.
Look better. The two last images point to the same place. See the "small" galaxy or whatever at the bottom of the pointed supernova on the two last photos pointed on the quote. They're the same as the big one pointed on the first one, the photo has only been zoomed to that area.
well, at this moment I am satisfied with my Athlon XP 2100+ and GF4 MX440 pair, running with 512 MB DDR 333 of RAM. I think that hardware such as mine is a bit "high end" compared with the average user (my friends have P4 1.4, XP 1500+ and so).
So a more realistic benchmark would be a wiser movement, ppl doesn't have 3.6 GHz boxes with 2 gigs of ram and a 400 graphics card (current price for the nvidia and ATI cards examined on that benchmark).
Yeah, but because of that reason that benchmarking is a bit useless... they should have benchmarked also Geforce 4 MX cards, and Geforce 3 - a more real vision of what people have on their boxes.
the guys that tested usability. I cannot imagine Nielsen doing it by himself... err in fact, I prefer not to imagine that at all, I still want to have sex without weird thoughts filling my mind.
LOL. Alfas are known even today because they're a bit delicate, so fitting my car on its trunk would damage the suspension system. It seems that they do not share engines with some Fiat, even the engine at my Seicento is a Lancia one.
you're having, obviously, hardware problems, maybe the electric installation is faulty. Look at this uptime: 14:43:07 up 76 days, 14:18, 3 users, load average: 0.08, 0.02, 0.01
This is a regular Duron 700, 384 MB RAM, Gentoo that I use as a home server (you know, AV, antispam, firewall, mldonkey, printer and scanner server, web server, MySQL, and Seti@Home running at background). I will reboot today it since I have to update the kernel.
Here it is my regular PC: 14:44:12 up 6 days, 19:35, 1 user, load average: 0.01, 0.15, 0.27
Another gentoo machine, Athlon XP 2100+, 512 RAM.
Ok, I use gentoo, I can tune my system for very good peromance and stability. I first begun with MDK 7 or so, some years ago. I had the first +2 days uptime with it (I remember that I managed to get 9 days uptime doing heavy tasks with ptolemy since I was doing a huge project at school).
I am sure that you are getting similar behaviour on your windows installation, I mean, BSOD everywhere, weird abnormal program tremination and segfaults. Or maybe you're still with MDK 7.1 or similar, with much newer hardware on bottom of it. Or maybe a legacy hardware that you should remove since it is conflicting with other resources. But having such problems on linux shows some grade of hardware problems. I am not speaking of being a newb, you could also install MDK 10 and still get the same problems where you should get a nice system.
I DO own a Fiat (this one, Seicento SX).
This car performs very well for such a small engine (non-diesel 1.1cc, 55HP), I never had an engine problem (45k kilometers so far), the electric system performs well, though I had to replace the default front lights (the short ones, dunno how to say that in english) due to low intensity. I have several extras: electric windows, centralized lock, ABS, AC, 2 airbags, mp3 radio car and so.
I cannot speak about engine overheating, since it has no temp meter, but never noticed anything wrong when driving with high temp outside (I live in Seville, Spain, we have HUGE temperatures on summer).
Cannot speak about other models, but I never had a single problem with this little car, I am happy with it since I do mostly city driving (though I did some large trips with it).
But what if the second rover runs into a problem, too - the same or a different problem? Well, that means a third rover. So, why not make the entire base mobile...
What if the base has a problem? that means a second base...

...people offering the incentives for new space elevator technology are only doing so in hopes of losing their virginity in it one day...
Man, you can do incredible things on zero gravity...
Nope, because you would have to name the viruses with female names. We the /.'ers have enough problems to get a girl, I don't wanna know what could happen if they think that we geeks are male chauvinists...
WTF!!!

BackOrifice lol...
I've heard that they could POSSIBLY CHANGE the order of the camera crew listing on the end credits.
Mostly unacceptable!!!
Imagine a Beowulf cluster running on top of that 1000 emulated machines...
Imagine a Be... wait! it is already!! whoah!!!

Force?
Say that to Obi Wan.
Yeah, when not working for Macromedia, he does usability analysis for on-line casinos and pr0n sites.

basically, if you donate, you cannot use Mozilla.
... actually, I can run all those pr0n CD-ROM that came with Penthouse years ago through Cedega. What else would need any new linux user?
... I do not want a program in my computer to become psychotic by learning on all these pr0n sites I visit.
... oh, forget it.
remember Wargames... though I do not know what is worse, political brainwashing or massive thermonuclear war. Or tic-tac-toe.

It may sound funnier if you know spanish, it's a word like verga
