Question
The U.S. has been accused of cultural and economic imperialism in the past...
President George Bush Responds: ...It is no accident that the rise of so many democracies took place in a time when the world's most influential nation was itself a democracy.
A public healthcare system has not this kinds of problems. You're sick, you're cured for "free" (well, you pay taxes after all).
Of course it has lots of problems, like long waits. Here in Spain you can wait like 2 months to get an hernia fixed, though things change if your illness is an emergency (like an appendicitis or something that must be fixed now). But, hey, you know that you're gonna see a doctor even if you do not have an insurance company behind you.
Of course, if you have some money, you use some insurance facility, but it is not needed for your survival.
I think that this is a Good Thing (TM). A country that has not a public healthcare system that covers you un almost 100% of the illnessess out there has not an socially minded society. And that is bad.
A question. When the article says "John Lennon" I assume that it speaks about the Beatle. This is something that is unknown to me. What the heck could possibly have to do a pop star with national security??
Nope, KITT was Michael Knight's car. KAT (not sure of how it should be written, but the "a" sounds like "u" in "cup", at least the translation to spanish) was an EVIL KITT, made by some villain else.
Imagine a fucking wireless beowulf cluster of CTSS running on this!!! and powered with some antigravitational pads... they would go for sure towards RMS for trying to hack their collective mind years ago!!!
Take a look to an example of actual teletext service, widely used here in spain. Imagine that small image expanded to a 25" TV and you will catch the idea.
So basically you're saying that FC is useless for enterprise usage, aren't you? Have you read their "about" thing on the FC site?
The goal of The Fedora Project is to work with the Linux community to build a complete, general purpose operating system exclusively from open source software.
FC is a general purpose linux distro, great for desktop and great for enterprise (although I'm a gentoo boy).
Of course it will never be widely used on a normal production environment, as it happens with gentoo, where software updates should only be done to fix bugs, and major software update (eg, an upgrade) should be made from time to time.

really? and had access to the user's email and read them?
I work as sysadmin. I have access to the user's email and so but I would NEVER read them, even on extreme cases. Such thing is a crime, here in Spain, and you could go to prison. Only a judge could order something like that. I thought that it was the same elsewhere...

I thought that passwords SHOULD not be easily unencrypted... or do they monitor them before encryption?

Though you're right. This gadget is silly.

well, here it's no policy. You cannot read any email not mailed to you, period. Even if the user says you to do so, it's still illegal.
