There is no need for phones to become portable gaming consoles.. There is a need for occasional time killing games on a cell phone. Anyone who thinks that phones need more must not have a job or a life.
Really, the differences between using Linux programs and Microsoft programs are not that great.. Actually I have more problems with the changes from MS Office to the newer MS Office. I'm sure it's supposed to be better and more "intuitive", I just think they have a different meaning of that word than I do.
Ok, they list 2 ISP's as the leading "culprits".. in Spain, and France I guess.. then they go on to say something about DSL modems supplied with DNS servers ???.. what's that about ? really ? a DNS server on the modem ?.. a hard coded link to a DNS server maybe.. If your going to report a problem, then report a problem.. like the names of the manufacturers, models, and ISP's and give people something to look out for.
Great for you, pain in the but for some manager or waitress in the restaurant. Yes of course you can live without a cell.. It's not mandatory.. It is however handy (hey they call them handys in Germany), if not just to not inconvenience some poor waitress, then to call someone in an emergency on the road... No you don't need a smartphone, but at least cheap prepaid phone, so you don't have to be the cheap bastard nagging me to use my phone and minutes because you got a flat tire.
And further there are PDF manuals leaked from Motorola that specifically call it Droid.. nowhere is Sholes to be seen.. I think we have yet to see the official marketing of the HTC offerings, and it may just be some people unintentionally confusing things since they were kind of announced together.. I have the feeling that soon the line will be drawn.. I suppose it could be possible that this is a Verizon thing, but then you would think that the Motorola offering would have a "double name" as well, like "Droid Eris" and "Droid Passion".
Yes I agree that the article was bad.. Your post was also "as bad", because you have twice in your post said "COPY".. which shows that you have no idea about Android, what it does, it's history, or how it compares.. To inform you a bit, may help you understand what is going on.. First, Android as a platform is taking off.. Where as there was a few months ago.. 1 phone, at 1 carrier, by 1 manufacturer.. there are now multiple carriers and multiple manufacturers.. Sprint has good offerings with affordable plans.. Verizon has excellent offerings at the same plan pricing that AT&T offers, and T Mobile who has been with Android the whole time has also increased what they offer, as well as reducing the plan pricing.. Will the iPhone die ?.. no of course not.. Will people who now have all these choices of manufacturers and carriers buy Android ?.. Absolutely.. Will there be iPhone users who switch to Android ?.. yes there will.. Can Apple maintain a dominance over all this competition ?.. You tell me... Anyone who can not see how big a deal this really is, has probably not even used and Android phone, and have there head in the sand (or other places).. Sit back and watch what happens, as more and more people grudgingly head to the cell phone store to see what all the fuss is about...
Actually nothing wrong with the new folders that I can see. The alternative is the old way which is to just dump everything into home. If you want to see what it's like just to dump everything in one directory, just go to usr/bin.. sure you don't have to figure which folder it's in..
And the Win 7 Marketplace is where ?.. I knew what it was referring to, I just don't see the point of complaining that one OS doesn't have something when the other doesn't either.
I have used an Android phone.. It's dead simple to use.. Instead of basing your decisions on others comments, just go to a TMobile, Sprint, and soon Verizon store and try one.. It's so simple the myTouch doesn't even come with a manual, just basic instructions like how to install the battery.. You can get a manual online, but you would have to be brain dead to need it.
I don't know.. my experience has been that Windows machines require more work to keep them healthy. Without trying to sound like a fanatic, Let me point out that there are whole industries and jobs that are built around just trying to keep Windows machines running. I think it would be extremely interesting if there were an accurate estimate of the amount of "support call time" per install of the two. I think that Linux with it's image of "being so complicated" would probably prove to be less complicated to maintain.
I'm with you.. I'd like to know where this bad rep is coming from.. Ubuntu is not any more notorious for this than any other distro.. They all have the same issues to deal with, so the same likelihood of breaking. In particular, the issue that all distros have to deal with, is kernel updates and video drivers.. I dread seeing a new kernel showing up in an update on any distro.. but usually a version upgrade has worked fine, and is no more a problem than any new install would be.. which would mean, finding the right driver to get full use of the video card.
I am sure that will come.. They can't do any worse than T-Mobile has done with the MyTouch ads.. which is basically handing the phone from one person to another.. what's up with that ?.. In my case, I had been watching the upcoming Androids for a long time.. I got tired of the waiting game, and just went to the TMobile store and tried one.. Some of the YouTube videos were pretty good, but if I was to rely only upon them and the ads that I have seen I probably would not have been sold.. actually using it in the store sold me..
Verizon is going to be a big boon to Android.. Well that and the fact that Sprint also has the Hero.. Those that live where they couldn't get an iPhone will get those phones and show em off.. and they are very good alternatives to an iPhone, people who don't think so, will be in for a shock.
Pretty interesting, as I was typing this, they showed the droiddoes ad on TV..
That's a lot of streaming.. Just curious if you do it "because you can", or because the content you get is that good. The reason I ask is that there are so many other options for obtaining, storing and playing music. This doesn't take away from having the ability to do what your doing, it's pretty cool and I also occasionally do it as well I just haven't used it as a replacement for other ways to listen to music.
Because it's not, really. It's a rant on how someone loves their phone, and that no one could possibly make a better one. It's not insightful to ignore what is going on in the market. It's not insightful to ignore what's going on in the world outside your own. It's a comment from someone who most likely has never even used an Android phone.. most "iPhone will never be beat" comments are written by such people.. It ignores the fact that within a month, in the US there will be 7 Android competitors across various carriers, and that by this time next year it will be at least double that.. Maybe the iPhone is just that great, that it can outsell all these models across all these carriers.. or maybe the projections are understated, and it won't even take that long.
Then the $5.00 for 200 text messages is not a bad deal.. that's.025 cents per message if you used them all... I am not a "texter" either, but I pay for a similar thing (300 for 5.00) with Tmobile.. because I have some friends who do text, and I also use it for checking bank balance... I really don't need it, because I have a data plan, and email, web, and instant messaging can do everything SMS can and then some.. but that would require all the other people I know to have a data plan as well.. and they are too damn cheap.. bastards.
MS and Google's strategy of using OEM's means their customers don't care which OS they use and no one knows the names of the phones since they are always changing and are considered throwaways. the phone manufacturers put on their own GUI's and themes so you can have two WinMo or two Android phones side by side and they will look completely different.
Lumping MS and Google together.. Interesting.. Android phones are hardly throwaway phones, there may come a point in the future as things take off, but up til now the hardware has been touchscreen, and a bit pricey to consider it as a throwaway.. and people who own Android phones would hardly think of it that way either. They think more like iphone users in that regard, they enjoy what they got, but keep an eye out for what improvements in phone technology is coming down the pipe, faster processors etc.. Your point about the GUI's themes etc.. is comparing to what ?.. the iPhone at AT&T against the iPhone at AT&T ?... carriers have long been "making it their own" with regards to changing menu structure and applications and services offered on mobile phones.. If you ever tried a Razr from TMobile, Verizon, and Sprint they are the same phone but different because they are how the carriers wanted them to be. If Apple had, or in the future should they, go to other carriers you will learn the way the mobile world works..
To address the GUI differences, I assume you are referring to the HTC Sense UI with multitouch verses the standard Google interface.. It may be confusing to you, but "Google" and "Android" when it comes to mobile phones are not interchangeable.. Android is a mobile phone OS platform developed by Google.. Now Google has developed apps for their own platform (Android), and for a phone to have the Google name attached to it it has to have these apps and meet other Google criteria (there is the standardization you think is lacking) so to say that "Google" phones are all different is really untrue.. Android phones are and can be different, because that's the way the platform was designed.. So when a manufacturer or developer comes up with something like the sense UI they can do it, and still share applications because of the basic Android framework... Now when you can show me another phone other than the iphone, where I can get apps from Apples app store..
The tracking device does nothing more than make this an automated task.
I have a problem with this.. It's lazy, and inaccurate information... Drug dealer parks in front of your house 3 times in a week visiting the guy across the street.. Who are the cops going to visit ?
There is no need for phones to become portable gaming consoles.. There is a need for occasional time killing games on a cell phone. Anyone who thinks that phones need more must not have a job or a life.
What's worse is to have mod points, but the post is already modded to 5.. Kind of like having a cigarette but nothing to light it with.
In looking at similar items pricing, sorry, don't care if it displays information before I think to ask for it..

That your legally blind increases the chance of some women of procreating, much in the way that beer does.

Permissions problem maybe ?
You need more freinds with a data plan.. emails are just as easy to send as SMS

See it in operation.. http://phandroid.com/2009/10/28/google-navigation-in-car-video-preview/
What the heck happend here ? .. there was a story on Tor, and then a story about AT&T and somehow the Tor replies are in here ?

I don't know, but I am assuming they are avoiding 2 thru 55 HZ ,,, as to how it applies, I imagine it has to do with the frame rate of flash.
