I know it's a fools errand, but I'll be damned if I can think of a better way.
That's why nothing you want ever gets done. There's a reason all the ideals of the '60s hippies and their successors were thwarted, and I'll give you a hint: it has something to do with their tactics. If you want to help, go build an EMP bomb and set it off at 3 AM outside your local police station. Let 'em spend a while sorting THAT out and then see how much time they have to arrest you for drug possession.

You didn't have bad calculus teachers, you had TERRIBLE calculus teachers. Didn't your textbook show proofs and derivations of the formulas you used? The way you had to do it sounds like a horrible, grueling experience. Calculus fits together logically just like all other branches of mathematics, if you can see it.
I won't argue that that's what he got, but is this what he expected to happen? If so, was his expectation really strong enough to risk 30,000 dollars on? It seems much more likely that he simply thought it was a good deal.
No. The overwhelming likelihood is that he does only (or at least mostly) care about pure monetary profit, but he actually thought this was a good deal. That requires a special kind of stupid.
I know a number of people whos hearts are pumping out less than 10 percent of the blood that enters it (normal is to pump out ~60 percent).
Forgive my ignorance, but how would that work exactly? If a heart pumps out less blood than it receives, wouldn't the blood build up in the heart until it exploded or held all the blood in the body?
I'd like the same thing, but we're both in the minority. People wanted to be searched and restricted, knowing the terrorists were being searched and restricted in the same ways.
Your paranoia's completely off base. The current administration has very obviously shied away from visible losses of freedom and displays thereof, which is integral to its "protecting your freedom" defenses. The only exception is airline security, where the public wanted them to take some freedom. You need to pay more attention.
You're a dumbass. Let's assume, just for the purposes of this discussion, that you don't have to learn how to use a computer every time you want to download a song. Let's even pretend that some people have already learned how to use computers, and already own them too, for other purposes. We might even make a daring third assumption, that small children aren't the ones downloading music. There, wasn't that fun? Now we see that your post is total nonsense. To get a CD requires you to get in the car, drive to the store, buy it, and drive home, for every purchase. To download a CD requires you to point, and then click, in that order, and then type something, and then point and click again. Kind of takes all the substance out of "It's worth so much to you that you'll steal to get it", doesn't it?
I just hope they learn to socialize somewhere other than in front of a computer screen.
Don't worry, they definitely know how to do that. You're in the minority caring about something like music; most teenagers spend their time talking about nothing with each other, and necking. They listen to the crap on the radio, and they LIKE IT because they know nothing else and don't care.
It's a reference to Julius Ceasar (the play). It's getting a bit old, though; I think I'll change it up again. Perhaps a bit of wise advice from an old blind bluesman, chosen for its utter lack of application to my life? Yes, I think that will do nicely.
I'll be surprised if any studio will actually fill up an entire blu-ray dvd to make HD-DVD look that much more inferior of a format
I can think of one release right off the bat that could fill up an entire Blu-Ray disc - the Closing of the Winterland, by the Grateful Dead. Currently crammed onto 2 DVDs, it's 6 and a quarter hours of music performance - that's more than enough to fill up a 50 GB dual-layer disc.
The thing about it is, I learned those things too. I learned stuff like respect, politeness, and how to interact with people like equals. That took, what, two weeks? Not four years. School is a waste of time, and the fact remains that while I'd never say it out loud, the people around me _were_ violent stupid monkeys.

"It's worth so much to you that you'll steal to get it"??? You do know that, by all accounts, it's EASIER to pirate than to buy, right?
Ignorance is only capable of being blissful when it's ignorance of a single individual. Collective ignorance is not, and can never lead to, bliss.
You think teenagers are even capable of recognizing that?

HD-DVD does support mandatory Linear PCM, so no worries there.
I sympathize with your opinion about their habits, and the habits of their fans, but I can't argue with the music. It's just enjoyable to listen to.
"heavily modified wiki page"? Jesus, I hate you so, so much.

No, not quite. A firewall with a backdoor pretends to care about your privacy.
Exactly. Would they say that a FLAC file had only 70% of the music? I really don't think they would.
Someone better get a credit card with an insulting name and send a blown-up copy to them.
Or maybe you spelled "Niel" wrong.
Have you tried a source other than CNN for your science? They tend to publish more verbose results elsewhere, like in scientific journals.
