  1. Scaling problems? on Tracking the IT Job Market with a Bot · · Score: 1

    It seems there are some minor issues with the scaling of the graph, for instance try viewing the So. California alone and then So. California and D.C. Metro; look at the max on So.Cal. in both cases, they are shifted by about 300 according to the scale. Maybe it needs some sort of calibration, I guess?

Now, call me whatever you like, but ALL three female IT workers I've ever met were just disastrous, and I strongly suspect they had their jobs partly because of their sooo sexy mini skirts they used to wear. I hope I'm wrong, but my intuition tells me I am not. Still, I want to meet that wonder IT girl all the statistics are talking about.

    You must be refering to people who rather analyze and deduct information rather than to people who store and play it back.

    That is, there are AAAA students that have an magnific memory skill, but that's all they can do, store.
    They rarely really analyse the data they have in order to get an useful item out of it.

    On the other hand you have the D student, who can't memorize and usually asks the "WHY TF should I do these?" question.
    This one is able to deduct a theorem out of the data he's got peeking over the shoulder of the neighbour;

    And there are the geniuses which have a better balance between storing and analysing data.

    Now, about what type of brain are we talking here?

    I think this is not a vulnerability, it's actually a feature.

    Fixing the bug browserwise WILL lead to more problems in various web applications, xul, ect

    BTW, can anyone tell me why citibank is ALWAYS the scammers' target?

    I live in Romania and I am well aware of the aspects of fraud and all, but that is NOT the main business on the net here; we also are trying to develop the infrastructure in order to provide the necessary cultural links between the individuals and the rest of the world. We fight our way through with the old rugged "securitate"(read gestapo) service in order to provide some privacy for the user.
    You have no idea how difficult is to persuade a hacker to stop; in some cases we had to meet him in person and kick his ass.
    And now this. There are some reasons why the fraud is taking place through and in Romania; one is the goverment because they don't have the necessary expertise to deal with the issue; second is the general state of poverty (generated by the corrupt goverment as well).
    Of course you might say, it's your govt, deal with it, in the mean while you are blacklisted; but think about it: the net is the only viable way we can use to keep the people informed, to communicate to each other and all; and cutting us off will NOT lead to a fix, but to an even darker period for the people(read lemmings)

    We have the same issues with the pigs;
    it is true that they are educated in such way that they consider themseves some sort of guardians of slaves or similar, and they behave accordingly;
    it is true that most people behave like slaves too.
    They do not have the correct notion of freedom, ant they piss their pants when the police asks for "papers" - and instantly they begin negociate some bribery.
    As far as I am concerned , I just LOVE when the pigs are starting the chicanes with me. Because they also fear the scandal here, and that's exactly what I provide for them; because they are PAID with MY MONEY! They should SERVE me, not PISS ME OFF!
    Anyways, no real chance of sueing police officers over here, it's just too expensive and futile, but what you can do is offering the pig a battle they don't want with a weapon they can't handle: public scandal. (not too effective either, but at least it has some pros)
    Not too many citizens know their rights, and almost none realize that their actual legal rights are a very dim version of what they should be;
    And of course, this will eventually lead to just another bloodshed, but we'll talk about revolutions in another post :)

    In this particular case, the police officer should have just ask for the car identification at their base , and if the owner's name showed up, they could just do some talking, no biggie; but the slightly fascist officer needed some struggle and stuff in order to tame his own complexes. tsk tsk tsk

    FREEDOM to you all.
