    It doesn't even qualify for being a planet based on the new rules (keeping its orbit clear of other stellar objects) -- Phobos and Deimos are evidence for that. FUD. Phobos and Deimos are moons aka satellites of Mars. And satellites have been cleared

    What about the angle between the spacecraft's trajectory and the radio signal? Since they measure spacecraft which pass by earth, you have a point in the spacecrafts trajectory where it's distance is at a minimum to earth. The spacecrafts doppler shift is at a minimum there, too. This minimum should consist only of the transversal doppler shift which you could use to determine the spacecrafts velocity.

    Great. AFAICS this has many disadvantages. No Mac support (guess there's no Linux support, either). Depends on the screenreader shipped with MS Windows. Can only give short descriptive information for whole plugin (read: string without a structure like headings, paragraphs, etc.).

    But this irrational hatred of Silverlight is a bit beyond me. Big fucking deal, at least it's attempting to become a competitor of Adobe Flash. Competition spurs innovation and all that jazz.
    It's another proprietary "standard" crippling the web. BTW, i hate Flash equally.

    In that case they are limiting the access to their records to those that are able to run Silverlight. Which is just about any computer that has an OS installed and is turned on.... What about disabled people? How is Silverlight supported by screenreaders?

    Since there's an awful lot of charged particles, micrometeorites, and high energy photons bathing the astronauts while on a space walk, perhaps the smell is coming from all the ionized molecules on their suits and gear.

    Yes, that's exactly the point. I am a physics student and the first thing that was told to us before we began our first lab course was: "Don't throw away any data! Even if you think it's unimportant, equipment failure, ...". New discoveries have been postponed for years because someone simply threw away data which seemed to be unimportant at this time. There's simply no way of telling if some data set is essential or not. If you're thinking this way, you should be more than satisfied with results alone.
