Does the article say anything about the screensavers ability to execute said meta refresh? No. The article is obviously written by a journalist that knows little about http. A meta refresh can't possibly "redirect all incoming traffic".

Just because some people use them incorrectly, doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to make good use of one. With your argument, because some guy in an SUV cut you off, or a granny in a buick is driving 10 under the speed limit in the left hand freeway lane, it makes all cars bad, and you won't drive them.

doesn't make any sense, does it? If you know how to drive, and you can useyour automobile correctly, that's really all that matters, now isn't it?

That's why napster has done so well, and why scour did so well. IMHO, Scour was much better than napster, Though napster had the larger user base, and scour exchange had a few bugs in it (ok, more than just a few).

there is GSM in chicago. but it is just experimental (ie, not reliable). VoiceStream is getting ready to launch a new market there. My personal opinion? They need to expand coverage in the markets they already have.

Voicestream is growing quickly, they acquired Aerial and Omnipoint, and then Powertel, then Deutsche Telekom acquired Voicestream, Then VoiceStream turns around and buys SOL Communications (Nice name, huh?).

If this DT merger goes through, I think you can expect some great things out of GSM.

And from the geek perspective, I can't share what it is, but you will be very impressed with what VoiceStream will have for you, in terms of wireless internet.

Of course, these same people, have a thirst for knowledge, and do GO to school everyday, and go to class, they just don't waste thier time on the bullshit homework, which makes up the vast majority of the grade. I know that in my case, I was a frequent user, went to school everyday, had fun, didn't do homework, took all the tests, and guess what? Did very well on the tests, aced most of them. I really don't understand how one can be "hard-core geek" with only one desktop computer. I just don't get it.

And also, you have to remember. in order to put dialup onto these devices, the company brand has to create the infrastructure to support all those phone calls coming in.
