I think you're right in majority of cases. However, the UK government's site has proven useful in the past for focusing the media on particular issues. For example earlier this year over 1 million people signed a petition that was against the introduction of road charging in the UK.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Vodaphone and T-Mobile files were found on the iPhone. But I'm really surprised that Apple may choose O2 here in the UK. Recently Vodaphone and T-Mobile have really been touting their internet access services while O2 doesn't seem to have anything to offer. I can't see how O2 can even be in this race!
BBC News has gone downhill but something like this is quite out of the ordinary for them. Is it telling that they introduced 'Newswatch' (their own standards watchdog) a few years back? I'm sure Newswatch will be pretty scathing about this whole debatable.
That's just some clever spin thrown in because the guy's a spammer. I mean come on... check out the dodgy domain name linked to his user name. Do they even have the internet in Ecuador? That's a dead give away.
Your exactly right. I watched this on the BBC Breakfast news along with other clips of the programme and it's quite easy to see why this guy lost his cool. I also found out that the church is accusing the BBC of terrorist threats and of somekind of protest(?) - I can't remember the exact details.
The church isn't exactly looked upon favourably in the U.K. and I doubt that by going up against the BBC they'll look any better. Anyway, I can't wait to watch the rest of the show.
The BBC should be providing licence fee payers like myself with unrestricted digital content. If we end up building up massive libraries of free classical music, then so much the better! It is their job to educate, inform and entertain licence fee payers, not sell us CDs. They should not be concerned with "negative market impacts" - they should be providing the public service that we Brits are paying for. You should make your voice heard! I plan on submitting my opinion and I urge other U.K. residents to do the same.
I heard Nintendo's trying to offload a certain brand name, maybe that could help Sony?

You can submit a story, write in your journal and suppress Apple stories. Problem solved?
With Apple's track record I was hoping the back would get hot enough to iron my shirts. Now that's convergence!
You joke now but can you imagine what it will be like after 6pm!
In other news Steve Jobs was quoted saying "My birth cry will be the sound of every phone on this planet ringing in unison".
//TODO: Insert obligatory '500MB should be enough for anyone' comment here.
That's my Windows XP key you insensitive clod!
You're right, IFPI is world wide and just happens to have main offices based in London.
Wait a second... there's a picture of a cat on the internet and it's not looking for cheeseburgers?

Hi, I thought it would be interesting to plug the consoles into Google Trends. See what you think.
Yee-hah! We've got ourselves an old-fashioned slashdotting. I ain't see one of those in nigh-on thirty stories.
Use Pony analogies.

Sorry for hijacking your point.
Sounds like a childhood of playing Donkey Kong wouldn't be wasted if you were at Microsoft.
Thank you for re-affirming my sanity!
Bravo. Only kidding Commander.
The Kids are Alright.
Hey I'd scream too if I were installed along side vista.
I don't know about that, but going by the poster below it's about 1,165801.80 Volkswagen Beetles. Is that any help?
Blurnball? :)
Brilliant! Easily one of the best comments on Slashdot.
