After the last mess that ensued from posting my FTP site on slashdot, I think I'll just have to make do. You're not trying to say that I shouldn't trust Linus are you? Look at the great Norwegian group that just qualified for the Eurovision. I'd trust them with my backup any day, no questions asked.
Before I start, are those torrents iso's? Its far from obvious what OpenBSD_3_7_amd64-2005-05-19-1824.torrent might be. A CVS snapshot? A BoF? what ever happened to informing people what they might be downloading? Even OpenBSD_3_7_amd64-2005-05-19-1824.iso.torrent (or whatever) would be better. What exactly are the linked torrents?
Sorry. I'm not an American. All I've noticed about your last two elections is that you guys enjoy parties and like the choice to be able to vote for one of two identical candidates / parties.
Again - how can one state dictate choice / policy to the other fifty? Florida isn't exactly big by any measure unless you count swamp or old people.
How can ONE state out of fifty decide an election - never mind help decide foreign policy against a relatively helpless country? All you have is a conspiracy theory. Wheres your proof?
What beats me is how you got modded insightful. Where does the OP turn Cuba into a beacon of freedom? All he stated were facts - unless you care to deny (nd back up with facts) that the US has not tried to bring Cuba / Castro down multiple times? Whether doing so is right or wrong is not the argument here.
1. A refusal to allow: ban, disallowance, forbiddance, inhibition, prohibition, proscription, taboo. See allow/prevent. 2. A coercive measure intended to ensure compliance or conformity: interdict, penalty, sanction. See reward/punish/deserve.
I still don't get it. They have applied for patents to ban filesharing?
IMO, Martin's books are the most amazing contribution to fantasy since Tolkien (and they're better than Tolkien's groundbreaking but uneven work).
Close, but IMO you're out by one. Steven Eriksons 'Tales of the Malazan Books of the Fallen' are above even Martins genius. If you haven't tried them out, do so immediately. First book can be difficult at times, but after that its all completely mesmerizing.
Try importing 1,000 tracks across a wireless (802.11b) network. iTunes takes about 10 minutes. Winamp takes all of 30 seconds. WTF is iTunes doing?
They all suck. What you really need is this. No contest.
WTF? Right at the bottom:
How thoughtful, and such a memorable URI ...

Its all conjecture. Not a single fact in sight. But its the subject line that matters. Right?

Only wimps use tape backup: _real_ men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it. -- Linus Torvalds
So do what I do: run an FTP server locally. Instant backups according to Linus. And when was he ever wrong?
That was me. My keyboard is unplugged and my mouse is on the blink. Would it help if I said sorry?
Become obese enough to have your own gravitational field? Then just reeeaaccccchhhh out a hand ...
Did you study English literature? Ever come across something called a metaphor? My guess is that you probably just took the candy.
Oh for mod points. I've tried to raise similar points in the past, but always get trolled down by rednecks. I wish you luck in moderation.

Me - if I'm forced to use their DRM, and only allowed play paid for music on their approved hardware.

I'd say it was 1, and he counted it out on his fingers just so there was no mistake ...
The number of open-source licenses has exploded, leaving many in the community miffed.
Why don't they just pick one? How does entering another license into the fray solve the problem with there being too many?
Maybe they should OSS your brain, fork it even. Seems to be having a few problems - maybe even having an argument with itself?
