Plugging it in may seem to help, but you're still paying for the electricity. Electricity that's made in power plants burning fossil fuels, which are still polluting.
Make Sure to check out the Optimized Builds that are available from 3rd parties.
I've used this since before they had extension support. I don't recall ever seeing a portable Opera...
