How can you criticize Linux for having too many proprietary repositories when Windows doesn't even have any? There are a number of problems with Linux, but the package system is one in which Linux (at least most popular distros) beats Windows hands down.
I, for one, am glad that the military is working on weapons to defend ourselves from the upcoming dolphin invasion. I know (from various sources) that the dolphinkind have been planning their move for dominance for a long time, but their efforts have been thwarted yet again by that intelligence and heroism of the US navy.
Slashdot needs a mod option "incorrect" for stuff like this. Sound isn't the same thing as light and it isn't the same thing as 2.4 GHz microwaves. Sound travels better through water than air. Sound doesn't travel at all through vacuum.
So, is Google asserting copyright on the scans of the books whose copyright Google doesn't own? Could I just copy and redistribute Google's scan of the book? After all, I have as much claim to the book as Google, and the scan itself is not a creative work.
This is obviously just a temporary page. Who cares if there is CSS? That's just another layer of formatting nonsense for a short message, when the browser default format will do fine.
Unclosed <p> tags? What's the point of closing <p> tags? It's just a few wasted bytes and a few moments of wasted typing time. Standards zealots should spend their time criticizing things that actually matter.
Now, the image text, I don't get that one. That's stupid.
What's more important, to be fair or to be right? The damage in the USA has already been done. It's a fucked up scenario. Admonishing the Indians for moving towards a more resource hungry society might be hypocritical, but to dismiss a message because it was delivered by a hypocrite is just ad hominem.
Well, I hope you like winning all the time. Because your fair AI will get trounced again and again in a complex RTS game.
In chess, a fair AI can provide a challenge because the game rules are so simple that the computer can brute force it. There's no hope in brute forcing the simplest of RTS games.
What you are asking for is something everyone wants, but isn't quite doable right now by a game team. (Although, if you open-sourced the AI, you might get some pretty wicked community-generated AI.)
Where can I get a toilet seat designed specifically for lawyers?
but remember, you still have to pay for the bandwidth if you download from iTunes.

It's obvious that suction wouldn't work in space, but why would magnetic stickers fail?

Go Humanity!

A major difference is that the Axis were the clear aggressors here.
80 hp = 60000 watts, maybe 40-100 hairdryers
I don't know what kind of point you are trying to make here, since you've totally left the ball field.

Correction: The difference it makes is that if you've never had kids then you can only reliably argue with facts, not emotions.
False dilemma. You forgot the option:

Canada, Australia, and Luxembourg are all up there with US on per capita greenhouse emission. It's a tight race.
IIRC, polls showed that Americans strongly disfavored the bailout from the beginning.
So it's Apple Computers that invented the online store? Wow, Jobs is really a visionary!
Sure, but that doesn't address my point.

oops, cancel that redundant mod. mouse slip.
I dunno about a cat, but I got a rabbit with a little drum to stick them into.
what's preventing the battery from discharging?
Same thing that keeps any battery from discharging. Time.
As a cook, I'd have to say that's a bad idea.
What is your definition of sucking, if a vacuum doesn't suck?
Pretty much the same joke was on xkcd not so long ago.
(But it's simple :D)
