I would just buy a little hand held Wi-Fi detector and run around with it. I'm pretty sure that there are models that could see the AP from pretty far away and also see the SSID even if it's not broadcasted.
Quote from the article:
"SP 1 was attacked 4,857 times. It was infested within 18 minutes by the Blaster and Sasser worms. Within an hour it became a "bot," or a machine controlled by a remote computer, and began attacking other Windows computers.
Microsoft responded that the tests prove that any operating system is vulnerable when not patched."
What a brilliant deduction, oh mighty evil overlord!
I bought my Shuttle XPC SN41G2B before they had invented the SilentX power supplies for the XPC models, and I believe that mine only outputs 200W. I am powering a SoundBlaster Audigy Gamer, an NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400, a DVD combo drive, two hard disks (a 60 GB IBM w/2MB cache and a WD 120 GB w/8MB cache), and a slew of USB devices. I haven't had any power problems so far, but at the same time, the GeForce 4 series weren't really known for high power consumption.
Me too...everything got a wiggly and swirly and then I felt the compulsion to go and start eating flowers because I learned in Super Mario Bros. that I could shoot fire out of my wrist if I did so.
It's obvious that video games are not the issue here. I can't believe that people are so stupid that they believe a video game is responsible for the murder of three people. How about parental responsibility? Who was watching this boy to make sure that the games he played and the movies he watched at home were appropriate for him?
Guess what else, ignorant people!? Age is not the only defining factor with regards to whether or not someone should be playing a video game. Everyone goes through different life experiences, and as a result, people reach different maturity levels at different ages. One 16 year old child may be ready to work full time, raise a family, and drink alcohol based on their maturity level and life experiences. I wouldn't recommend this, but it could happen (ok, maybe that's a bit extreme:D ). This child was obviously out of touch with reality to a degree. It's not normal to say (and I quote):
"Life is a video game. You've got to die sometime."
As the son of a psychiatrist, this screams to me that something deeper was going on in the childs head besides images of violence that he may or may not have gotten instilled in his mind as a result of playing Grand Theft Auto.
So to make my rant short, I'm just waiting for the day when people can finally open their eyes and realize that a child needs attention, care, and supervision, no matter who they are. If as a parent you rely on the TV set to raise your child, of course he's going to be a little "off".
As for me, I've played an absurd amount of extremely violent video games. Situations I've seen through them? Stealth missions that involve the silent killing of animal s and people, having to "blow up" your enemies with various weaponry, killing cops, selling/using drugs, etc. etc. But have I ever imitated these actions? No, and I don't intend to. Life is no more a video game than the handling of this case is fair and responsible.
Actually, it just removes the shortcuts. WMP is integrated into standard Windows XP Home/Pro, and there are ways to rid the OS of it, but none are "officially supported";) .
Personally I love the XPC systems from Shuttle. I've had nothing but good, quality components from them and run an SN41G2B at my house. It's small, sexy and powerful.
Don't let this one bad experience make you hate Shuttle. I have nothing to gain by promoting them except trying to give an alternate opinion on Shuttle's reputation.
Great...so now when I accidently scratch my disc, I'm messing up several hundred MB of data instead of just a few. You also get the added bonus of being able to lose up to 50 GB of data just as easily as you could lose 4.7 previously.
At college kids need money for beer/drugs, so I'd say $10/hr is pretty appropriate. I doubt you'll see much business otherwise. Unless of course, you're willing to work for beer/drugs:D
I just hope that in the face of the new "console wars" approaching us (Nintendo vs Sony vs Micro$oft) that Sony doesn't forget that regardless of how powerful their processor is, it's the games and the innovative features the PS3 can (potentially, at this point) offer that will be winning tools, not data-crunching power.
Who cares who goes to the moon? We all know it's made out of cheese anyways. There is nothing useful up there except for cheesy goodness....mmmm...cheese.
So now the uninformed consumer market will be even more confused...
Customer: "So this is the best drive ever, right? I'll never need a new one?"
Best Buy Employee: "Yeah...this Blue stuff will make your computer faster, just like these gold-plated cables. You'll never need a new disc drive because this is it. The last format."
You are right. Those links DO work. Now that I click them a second time, they DO go to Gmail and ask me to sign up for an account. Damn! Glad I got one. It's not like I have 5 Gmail accounts already and use them as web storage with a shell extention and WinRAR to divide containers into 10 MB sections.
I am a groupthink following, fake link posting whore.
Yes...I'm a mindless drone who's following Slashdot groupthink. I cannot think for myself.
No I didn't check the damned links. Simply hovering over them shows me that they redirect to http://nyud.info .
Pirate.
It's not just tough for you. I am the kind of geek that tweaks out his computer from the BIOS to the registry settings, and I thought my computer was in amazing shape and ran really fast, with surround sound, of course. I was a happy camper. Then, one day I installed the final release of SP2 using the administrative redistributable package. Upon completing the installation and rebooting, I found myself with the exact same problem you're having. I could ajust my sound mixers, and programs detected my sound card, but Windows had magically "unregistered" all my sound codecs, and uninstalling/re-installing did no help. I finally decided to uninstall SP2, and my sound still didn't work.
I ended up re-installing Windows and sticking with SP1a. My computer works perfectly again, runs very fast (faster than with SP2) and I once again can bathe in surround sound.
By the way, I use a Shuttle SN41G2 motherboard with an NVidia graphics card and a Creative Audigy Gamer for sound. I know that other people using the Audigy/SP2 have had issues like this, but despite all my searching, I was unable to find a solution. I think either Microsoft needs to release a patch, or Creative need to update their drivers (as far as I can tell, they have not released a SP2 compadible build...).
That's very cool...I'm sure that it's a lot cheaper to power that sort of craft in comparison to a solid-based rocket fuel (which I hear is absurdly costly).
Now we need to start making TIE fighters (Twin Ion Engine fighters from Star Wars).:D
Ha! This is obviously a hoax. "Liquid crystal"? Such a think is obviously impossible! Who do they think we are...fools?
Maybe I'll just invent a robot dog name "linksys" that has another WRT in his body and just runs around with it to confuse people.
:D
Did I mention the dog shoots bees out of it's mouth when it barks?

Now you can be the envy of every nerd on your block by having a party where you scratch -- literally scratch -- copies of Windows ME on vinyl.
:D
Will data scratching be the next big thing in hip-hop/DJing?

If every major bug/problem was spotted and corrected before rollout, there would be no one using Windows today!

I'm weeping inside because I'm retarded.

You're a real joke, despite what links you claim to post.
All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth.

I'd rather have Darth Vader's TIE fighter :)

And how many of us lazy nerds are going to follow through with this? At least with wardriving you get to sit in a car! :P
