Why bother finding a medium and risk damage to it? Just upload your content somewhere (or multiple places) it can't get lost. Or have the waybackmachine archive it. Then put the link(s) on a piece of paper, laminate it and you're good to go.
Seriously, in a story about how trivial it is to get code to execute as root you post a comment about how much more secure Ubuntu is than hardened Windows?
Someone who isn't actively connected to the project won't f*ck up alot of other people's servers just for the hell of it. Right now there's not a problem (legally), but if he intentionally screws up packages there will be. Yeah if you're paranoid, don't update your servers and/or rebuild from official RH srpms. Or buy RH support.
I just asked a friend who works for RH and he can't confirm or deny they've kidnapped him. Hmm.....
Well said. And might i add that we in the past used to blame Canada for all that's wrong. With their beady little eyes and flapping heads so full of lies.
I'm curious, how much THC % is in medical over there? Over here (Holland) we just laugh at that stuff since it's about 2.5% compared to the regular 12-15%.
Some of us have been cruising on beta for about month or so.
Some even longer from when it was alpha. If you didn't mind a Gig of downloads every week... and a big chance that stuff breaks horribly (my colleague had to switch from kde to gnome with elinks and mutt to be able to work):)
"how do you get a reasonable level of respect from your users while not being a jerk?"
Set rules. Follow them. Give the good example and don't let anything slip by. Don't make exceptions no matter what (what = compliment, whine, threaten, complain or try to be your 'friend'). If you show your users you treat everyone the same you will earn a modest level of respect. As soon as you make an exception, others will notice (you can count on it: people talk, you know) and you are a "jerk" towards some users and a "hero" towards others. Best to stay somewhat in the middle of these two opposites.
Nintendo needs to make more "hardcore" games so whenever they aren't in first place anymore they won't go belly up.
They first need to release Wii 2 with better specs before 'hardcore' gamers are tempted to buy one. Don't get me wrong, Wii is a superb platform for really innovative games, but Mario Galaxy is already pushing its limits and that's not even _that_ special. The best thing they could do was improve on their succes and release newer versions of their best-selling games.
I don't know anything about DS so i won't comment on it.
virtual machine environments where bringing up more computing resources in a hurry is necessary and a fast booting VM image is necessary.
A good example is Novell Orchestrator which fires up VMs on demand (eg. when a high load triggers it). You don't want to wait minutes for it to load because by that time it might be too late (the customer will already notice a performance decrease).
According to his own findings, these results can't be trusted as they come from a person who's mind is already decaying. I would've believed it if the prof was about 22 years old.

So you're claiming all those phones, TiVo's, GPS's and other embedded machines ARE capable of running a cutting edge FPS?
Sure! Just imagine a Beowulf cluster of ....
Now Microsoft doesn't need to do it anymore. Is this a good thing then? Nice move on Google's part though.

Yeah, please stay on-topic like the rest of us.

Wow. They are different people?!
Mod parent up somebody.
Ok, i will!
Ah damn.
Care to back these comments up with some facts? As a parent, your comments made me a bit upset but also curious as to what you base your opinions on.
Will i be able to bake my own copy of Windows there?
I'm glad there's a happy ending to this story. Thousands of unpatched windows machines will cease to exist, hurray!

Continuing to be OT, why did the scrolling through comments become so horribly slow?

Ben Stiller of course!
cracker?
People using twitter, or people blaming twitter. What's the word I'm looking for?
crap
No no no. The correct translation is:
"I vill not buy this record, it is scratched."
The words 'quick' and 'openoffice' don't go well together.
