I can understand why Nintendo doesn't want Homebrew to be installed, but to target it specifically when releasing an update that should be fixing bugs instead of introducing ones? Anyway, i'm still running 3.2 with homebrew and don't see any reason why i should update my Wii. All the games i bought (yes, that's not a typo) are running fine and i can also play nice homebrew games. I'm not a fan of "if it aint broken, don't try to fix it" but this time i agree with it though.

I raise my children to be vegetarian, yes. I tell them that all the nutrients they need are found in a plant-based diet and meat-eating isn't necessary. In fact, studies shown that eating animal based food will increase the risk on certain diseases like cancer (read The China Study if you don't believe me). When they're old enough to live on their own, they can make their own decision if they want to be a vegetarian or not.

I don't know what the outcome will be, but I doubt that the judge will be reading from the anti-MS playbook.

what anti-MS playbook? This could be any software manufacturer. The point is that the previous ruling has nothing to do with hardware manufacturers. It's like saying to an engine manufacturer they can't use one type of bolt anymore. Then car manufacturers will complain saying they already implemented the entire engine and can't replace the offending bolt without taking out the entire engine and rebuild it.

  23. oh cry me a river on Dell Says Re-Imaging HDs a Burden If Word Banned · · Score: 1

So a hardware manufacturer made a deal with a software manufacturer. That software has a problem and needs to be altered. Hardware manufacturer then says "yeah but that will cost us time, and time is money". Judge will hopefully say "Review your deal and next time make a better one to account for these kinds of things. For now, stop complaining and start re-imaging disks".

  24. Re:Dark Tan? on Microsoft Poland Photoshops Black Guy To White One · · Score: 4, Insightful

That's not necessarily true. In Central Europe, nationalism is alive and well (actually increasing due to the perceived cultural threat from the EU), and a picture with three different skin colors for three people will not be interpreted as affirmative action, but unwanted external cultural influence.

Particularly the black guy, as you don't expect to see black people every day.

In Hungary, at least, the original picture would cause outrage from the far-right and a measurable decrease in sales.

In Holland we could not care less. Outrage over a picture like this? People in Hungary should get out more often. And i don't think that sales would suddenly drop because of this. The people who are dumb enough to get offended by this usually aren't the ones that make decisions that cause companies to buy the product or not.
