    i hear you. in my math class, some of the guys, if you ask them what 2+2 is, they go get their calc. i've personally always been good at mental math. except with division and multiplication by fractions and decimals. that i need a pen and something to write on to do.

    thanks for the correction. i put it as a question as i wasn't entirely sure about the time span.

    i personaly mostly download 50's rock mostly, with the odd obscure new music.

    i haven't bought a CD in a store for years. i've bought only 1 CD in the past year. it was from a local hard rock band. and i got the CD for 8 bucks (normal 10) as the drummer is a buddy of mine.

    i agree that the "pre-release" pirating needs to be curbed.

    Have you ever carried a prescription drug into a public school and never reported it to the administration?

    regularly. the shit you have to go through to "report" it to the administration is stupid. 2 forms, copy of the persription, parental note, then having to report to the office to get the pills when you're supposed to take them. it's stupid and wastes everyone's time.

    that would be how many ADMIT to it. i usually add about 20-30 percent to those numbers. still a fair lot off, but closer.

    This is precisely the type of copyright defense that was originally intended in America by our founders


    are you trying to be funny? copyright was not intended to give basically perpetual profit to a corperation. it was originaly, what, 7 years? it's now life of artist, plus 75 years. that's 75 years that *record company* is able to sell the song exclucively at pure profit. no artist royalites.

    your copyright system is a equally screwed up as your patent system. both need a serious overhaul, soon.

    How is a licensed service that *also* pays musicians a reasonable amount supposed provide a similar service at a similar cost?


    i've got a few ideas on that.


    1. use P2P for the music download. it would work like bittorrent. extremely cheap, as there would be little in the way of bandwidth costs.

    2. get people in charge that don't demand millions a year. cut that to maybe a few hundred grand a year.

    Aren't you supposed to be innocent until proven guilty? How are they going to prove that such-and-so a game made them do it?

    easy. the family's lawyer will advise them for a plea bargen to say that "Mass multiation XVI" made the kid do it and they'll get a lesser sentace because they're giving the anti-video game crusaide more ammo

    well, i've tried running an OSX mac for a little while. i personally liked the interface (easy to use, while looking subtly cool), but, i have a few knocks.

    1. unupgradable. i like to be able to change parts in my computer, not chuck the entire thing every 2-3 years.

    2. many of my favororite games don't have a mac version, and don't like virtual PC.

    3. 1-buttoned mine annoy me, though if i needed to i could probibly get used to them.

    if OSX, or OSXI, is ported to x86 and works with my hardware, i'll be glad to install it as a third OS on my computer, but keep windows xp and linux around for what i use each for.

    yes, but the differance would be that there is a proper cerimoany and things for the burning of a flag. at least up here in canada.

    you are smoking what exactly?

    laptops don't draw 360 watts of power. the biggest laptop power supply is 120 watts. that thing runs the laptop and charges the battery at the same time.

    as for the "120 watts per square centimetre", i think that's a mistake. i think that should be per square metre

    well, actually, anti-matter is really just a battery kind of thing. the inital power comes from duterium fusion reactors. energy is used for ship systems, and any extra is used to create anti-matter. anti-matter provides the massive ammounts of energy nessesary for warp travel.

    but back on topic, it is a good idea to distibute things. a little solar, a little geothermal, a dash of wind, etc.

    well, i have a serious urge to use a LART on a few idiots i know. but other violent tendancies are back about 4 years ago. and that was explained by puberty.

    seriously, the US legal system is screwed up and needs to be tossed out and be entirely redone from scratch. hopefully with sane people writing it.

    well, IMO, MS users are still only more likely to be hacked for a few reasons... 1. it's popular! pretty much everyone and their momma, and their 5th cousin, twice removed runs it. i run windows. keep an anti-virus handy, along with a firewall, practise inteligence with email attachments from people i don't know and most that i do. i visit windows update every week. i also run linux, though i don't use it on the net, mainly as my main use for the net (online MMORPG) doesn't have a linux version and i have failed to get it to work on linux. 2. staff. even as massive as microsoft is, it pales in compairison to how many programers there are in the OSS community. 3. most vulnribilities are only taken advantage of after the patch is released. there's that lag time always there from when the patch is released and when so many people have it, it's no longer worth looking for. i'm no MS zealot, just a realist. go ahead. mod me as you will.

    i agree. i love my canon i320. not exactly mind-blowing quality, but my relitives can't tell the differance between a real photo and the printer copy, so that's good enough. plus, the caertriges are cheap. $8 for black, $18 for colour. and i only need to replace the cartriges about every 3rd month.

    well, each to their own. millions of people who tried Everquest didn't like it.

    BTW, i wouldn't reccomend trying that tape trick very often. in the rules, that qualifies as "botting" and can get you banned.

    i happen to like it, but i'm fine if you don't.

    just a small request, if you've quitting the game, please withdraw your account so that dead names don't build up and prevent someone from having a name they like. though i would reccomend just giving away all your stuff before withdrawing your account, just to be nice.
