    Valor Points buy epic raiding gear.

    And you need faction reputation (which requires dalies) to buy that epic gear.

    For example, my mage's valor point belt and pants require revered rep with the Klaxxi.

    They've taken and fused together faction quartermaster gear and valor point gear. In Cata, you could collect rep and get epics (granted, first-wave epics, which were completely outclassed by gear from the halls of time heroic dungeons) from faction quartermasters or collect valor and buy from the valor vendor. Now you need to collect rep and valor to buy the gear.

    It's one thing I'm rather unimpressed with this expansion.

    Plus 5 minutes to deposit said cheque, then a few days waiting for said cheque to clear before your balance reflects reality again.

    Except for :

    1. Using their unlocker voids your warranty, unless voiding it would be illegal in your locale.
    2. Bootloader unlock as opposed to security off makes flashing many roms more annoying than necessary by making you flash the boot partition image manually via fastboot, rather being able to do it from recovery.

    HTC's mistakes were bootloader locking, not including microSD card slots or replaceable batteries in the One line, and getting rid of the Z line of keyboard phones. Associating themselves with Beats probably didn't help matters either.

    1. Delays? What delays? In Canada, barring extremely close races (where it's going to take you days regardless), we know the results before bed.

    2. What issues with recounts?

    3. Lost? Counting facility? The ballots are counted in the same building, often the same room, as where they're put in the box.

    4. Tamper with? In what manner? During the counting? That's what the observers from each party are there for, in addition to the elections officials.

    5. Chads? You put an X in the box. No stupid "punch a hole in the sheet with a herring" or "draw a line across the page" nonsense.

    For legally blind, there's a very large print version of the ballot in the booth. My legally blind grandmother never had any difficulty voting.

    For completely blind, there's a braille template.

    Expend power? The battery will generate plenty of waste heat on its own in normal operation. Quite a bit of effort goes into keep the battery pack cooled.

    The helium doesn't stop it from panicking at CO2. As long as you're breathing something at least inert, you can flush CO2 just fine. But as you suggest, humans aren't well equipped for detecting low-oxygen environments, an ability that is mostly exclusive to burrowing animals.

    You don't even need to go as exotic as helium, nitrogen will do the same. There's a dozen or so accidental deaths per year caused by displacement asphyxiation due to improper storage or handling of liquid nitrogen.

    Yeah, it would be such a burden to have to plug in the vehicle to keep the battery warm. It's not like we have to do that with current gasoline engine cars or anything.

    Better comparison would be the Panamera rather than the Boxster. Both 4-doors and they're pretty close in price with the base model of the Porsche at $75,850 vs. $78,500 for the Model S.

    Correction : Fisker apparently uses lithium iron phosphate-based batteries, not lithium cobalt oxide ones.

    That's pure lithium. Li-ion batteries use Lithium cobalt oxide or similar salts, which don't react with water like that.

    This is likely just a case of the water shorting the battery, causing it to overheat, and ignite something flammable (e.g. upholstery).

    I dunno about Fisker, but Saskpower has had a Mitsubishi i-MiEV driving around for over a year now for promotional purposes. AFAIK, there have been no problems with snow, salt, water on roads, etc., or at least no more than any other car has.

    Not sure about Kansas law, but federal law (USC title 28, section 1875) prohibits "discharging, threatening to discharge, intimidating, or coercing" permanent employees on the grounds of jury service. Temp employees and contractors, however, are fucked unless state law says different.

    It is. Title 28, section 1875 : "No employer shall discharge, threaten to discharge, intimidate, or coerce any permanent employee by reason of such employee’s jury service, or the attendance or scheduled attendance in connection with such service, in any court of the United States"

    Bolded is the loophole you can sail the Enterprise through. If you're a contractor or doing a temporary job, your ass is hanging in the breeze.

    It's not the standard (Everyone is headed to LTE), it's the frequencies. LTE in the USA is scattered over 8 different bands.
