how is that not evolution in response to a change in external stimuli?
Evolution doesn't work like that. It's a much slower, gradual process. Probably the only reason the creationists get away with their tricks in attacking evolution is that they attack an obsolete simplistic version of the theory.
NT4 never came out on a hardware platform that MacOS would run on.
NT4's PPC port ran on RS/6000 workstations, not plastic cased consumer hardware. I ran it, on a lark, on an RS/6000 Box for a short period, before reinstalling AIX.
It was a cold desolate world out there. I had Windows NT and the default IE 2.0 web browser. I couldn't find a single other program that would run on the box. It isn't like NT4 and Alpha, where DEC developed an emulation layer to run x86 binaries on NT/Alpha. There wasn't a Damned thing, anywhere online for NT/PPC.
Addiction - two of the most addictive and dangrous drugs (alcohol and tobacco) are legal. Why are we allowed to choose to use those, but not others?
If cocaine and heroin use was as widespread and popular in the US as alcohol and tobacco, they would bring with them more of the widespread illness and social problems that tobacco and alcohol bring.
Cocaine and heroin aren't popular enough to get an exemption. That's it.
Society as a whole has a right to decide what is acceptable. Perhaps an island or two should be set aside so the minority interests who want to live a smack and crack lifestyle can go live on them seperate from the mainstream, so their 'rights' are not thwarted by the majority.
I suspect said Island wouldn't have a hell of a long future.
But they don't have to be taxed. The whole purpose behind the level of taxes imposted on alcohol is to raise the cost of staying drunk above what most people can afford without working. That's the reason behind the history of the 'Gin Tax' in England. Do a bit of history research to study the social problems that happened when industrial processes made it extremely cheap to distill Gin in the 19th century.
Yes, I know this is what you were getting at. I'm not ranting at you, just backing up your arguement. The grandparent commenter is the one who needs the clue.
Coke actually was legal for a long time in the 19th century.
If you think there's a drug problem today, wait until there's a Ronald McDonald-style marketing effort behind promoting it in things like Coca-Cola, in 'Viagra' spam, etc.
Okay, you've cited a personal webpage (the tilde link gives it away) where someone ran rampant on font size to make a lot of bold assertions. Digging futher, it appears to be a page associated with some 'Humanist Society' in Austrialia.
I'm sorry. That's about as credible as a DARE bumper sticker.
If you really care about America it is your patriotic duty.
Gack! It's going to be a real drag when soreheads like you are fuming around trying to create a shitstorm, a few weeks from now, after Dubya is re-elected.
At least Kerry will soon be getting as much air time as Dukakis. ..
I'll just save money by buying the emulator and running the free Darwin on it.

Anyway, actually the most amusing 'emulation' trick I ever did was way back in the mid 90's. I bought a copy of Executor, which is the 68K Macintosh emulator (works really, really well except it only supports System 6 and earlier). I installed the Linux version, and the then-primative version of Wine.
I was able to then simultaneously run the Mac and the Windows version of Neko (the little kitten who chases your mouse pointer around the screen) and all on a Linux X desktop.
I had great hopes that the kittens would get in a fight, but they never did.
I use PayPal strictly for pulling in money from eBay sales, so can't say how well it works for the kind of thing you'd be doing with it. But it works well here.
Rhapsody was the code name for the moneypit that Apple nearly bankrupted themselves over before they gave up on coding a modern OS themselves, and bought NeXT's OS instead.
Ontop of that, if you sell something and receive payment by paypal, there really wasn't a way to cash out other than to use the money in the paypal account to buy stuff in other auctions.
Do you even know what you're talking about? You can have PayPal cut you a real paper check if you want. They charge for that, a direct wire transfer to your account is free.
Some of us pipe a substancial amount of money through PayPal and do it successfully, and without problems. I'd have to spend a hell of a lot more than I do on eBay for it to be anything but a big positive cash flow.
My friend bid on, and received, one of the Star Wars Christmas Special DVDs that someone was listing on eBay. Within two days of him receiving the DVD, all traces of said DVDs had disappeared from eBay.
However, all the 'bits' will be on hard drives that don't spin anymore. Me, I like going to auctions and buying vinyl. It's exciting to sort through a pile of albums, 78's, and 45's. Its cool to find stuff that's been forgotten sometimes for a half century, that still is pleasant to listen to.
There's almost nothing at all 'durable' about online music. Perhaps it's a blessing that a lot of it won't last longer than the last 'fan' who appreciates it, however.

Many people in their early 20's flirt with ill thought out Social Darwinist ideologies.
What you described is not the mechanism of evolution. GAFC.

It would be nice to see more cites on this.
Otherwise, it's just another Kinsey Institute 'The Vatican has the biggest Porn Library' big lie.
Like when Martha gets her "special" visit from Diane Sawyer....
I know how to ruin your fantasy:

It only ripples one layer back from the criminals. I.e.: the compiler writer didn't design it with significant intent for it to be used by criminals.
So stop mushing up the discussion with schoolboy logic fallacies.
Why does it 'pale'? Why do we need to make a 'comparison'?
Can't they both be wrong, and evil?
He made it up. Or he would name a company.
It's that simple.
You are an embarassment to nobody, since you're an A.C. and thus are nobody.
But it's fine to appropriate heated rhetoric.
Thank goodness that's all you represent.
If you really care about America it is your patriotic duty.

Yeah, let's boycott it. I have video captures, turned into VCDs, of the 2000 Presidential Debates that we can get together and watch instead. . .
At one point it was called 'butthead astronomer' and before that 'sagan.'

They really weren't capable of doing it.

Well, it's your choice.
I just have a debit card that I never put money into. Other people put money into it, and I siphon out green cash.
If you want any help getting rid of that 'quaint' cash, let me know where to come by and pick it up.
Tool.

Your points 1 and 3 are contradictory.
You can suck the money you receive in payment instantly out of PayPal by using the debit card as an ATM card.

Just another happy VERO action.
