- The constant cigarette is a nice way to subtly - almost subliminally - throw you off. But Ron Moore and his writers have relished in making the cylons as nuanced, flawed and unexpected as the humans. A cigarette-smoking cylon is a brilliant touch.
It's also a great way to kill the people on Battlestar. Via passive smoke.

Don't worry, once it's struck by lightning once it'll never happen again. So don't hop on the thing until lightning hits it.
Google has agreed to reimburse Schmidt up to $2.1 million this year for using his jet.
2.1 million seems a little bit higher then $1 to me.
But even so, they're able to survive on google stock. If google's stock goes down, their wage goes down (I'm guessing here, to me stock seems like gambling and make-believe). So they have quite a big incentive to ensure google's stock stays up (wonder how that will impact their do-no-evil mantra). This is nothing but a tax trick, which CEOs are reknown for doing. Of course, no-one here is going to say that avoiding tax is a bad thing. Because everyone pays too much tax as it is. [gripe type="about people who complain about paying tax"]Because stuff like roads are free.[/gripe]
BSD allows anyone to use the source code/information however they want. As long as I place the information/source code somewhere that's free to access, anyone can get to it and do whatever they want with it.
Once I submit my article to Microsoft I am no longer able to offer it to anyone else. No-one but Microsoft can use it. No matter what. Ever.
[sarcasm]Yeah, like I said. Only a minor difference.[/sarcasm]
He is unlikely to be getting anything better or more insightful than a parroting of what he has already delivered in his monologues to his class.
Perhaps he would get more then parroting if he encouraged more and used a marking system that rewarded those who did. I use to put a lot of effort into my assignments, and I'd get good marks. Now I put so-so effort into them and guess what, I get the same marks. The system doesn't encourage effort.
I wouldn't be satisfied with having my paper marked by a teacher that used a program for X amount of his/her class. I'd much rather just get a different teacher, one who can at least be bothered marking the assessment's they give the class (or can be bothered to find other human beings to mark the papers they gave the class. This is pretty lazy, even for a teacher).
If Google implements factual answers, they will potentially get a net increase in their traffic (since they will offer a feature other engines do not)
The evil MSN Search does. And it does it much better then google. It knows who the president of 1996 was, which corporation invented tv, which human being invented tv, unlike google.
Google's playing catch-up with this feature, and at the moment they're doing it poorly.
Unfortunately msn doesn't know if Pat Choate is a human being.
I asked it What was the president of the USA in 1996 and it came back with the same response as "who."
Obviously I'm unsure if Pat Choate is a human being, but google is quite unhelpful in my quest for finding out the truth.
I even asked "What is Pat Choate" and it couldn't come back with a simple answer (such as "a human being.") Obviously there is more to Pat then meets the eye.

Yeah, but I don't live on the coast, so why should I care?
The thing better not have openable windows or else the trip home will be pretty quick.
In other news there are a lot of people who are now dead.
Do we have software capable of reliably distingushing between a civilian and an enemy combatant (at least as well as a human soldier can, anyway...)?
Do the N.Korean/S.Korean governments care?
Have they done evil yet? Or are you basing this on every other corporation out there?

Because $150,000 per year is such a low wage [/sarcasm]
Hint: Your post makes it sound like they originally had low wages and that you would settle for their wage.
I know I did.
:(
Then I realised Australia doesn't have any notes for anything less then $5
Any marginally competent lawyer should be able to get him at least six figures from both the store, and the municipality where this occurred.
Wow, I know this was bad. But I don't know if it was that bad.
That wooshing sound is the joke going over your head ;)

I googled your name and clearly got quite a few results that were you. Obviously you're lying. That or posting under someone elses account.
I agree with you Rebeka Thomas. IF that is your real name.
Dunno. But your post says a lot about the American Education System ;)
I would be more impressed if he had come up with a way to get rid of the parroting and got his students to write some original stuff.
Give failing marks to those who parrot and give high marks for those who write "some original stuff."
Don't need to be a brain surgeon to create such a system.

So was it correct or not?
Most of em by it from ebay anyway.
And if Canada is resembling 1984, I don't know what US is resembling!1948?
So turn all blogs into forums. Sounds simple enough to me.
