  1. Re:what has the world come to on Movie Industry to sue File Sharers · · Score: 1

Movies are hardly an important product (well important is a subjective term, but I think most people will admit it isn't going to kill you not watching it). Movies are a form of entertainment, don't like the price, look for alternative entertainment. I haven't gone to the cinema in quite some time and I am certainly not sorry. I am certainly not missing out on "a fundamental activity." If you require to go see a movie to fit or be an outcast from your friends, perhaps you should re-evaluate your friends.

    Okay try to understand this.

There are jokes among geek circles that revolve around format c:\ and rm -f. Either is interchangable in the joke, it really doesn't matter which one is used.

So this person took the commands to see if the hype jokes create is all that it's lived up to be. He didn't want to do it technically right, he wanted to test the jokes. Joke. That -is- a known concept around here isn't it?

Just some simple crash-recovery controls and a way to speed it up would be a big improvement. I went to move over to it from Microsoft Word and was severly dissapointed by how damn slow it was and the fact that when I went to save it crashed and then didn't have any way for me to recover my lost data.

Perhaps it's better on non-Windows, but at the moment Word (unfortunately) shits all over OOo.

I agree, except for the fact that some games are just made to be used with a mouse and keyboard. I'd hate to play Myst, Might and Magic or Civilization II on a console. Thankfully with keyboards and mouses coming becoming more common then before for consoles, this may no longer be an issue.

It really depends on priorities. What's more important, contributing to the RIAA's funds and buying music, contributing to the RIAA's propaganda and illegally downloading music or finding alternative music and not helping the RIAA?

Let's face it. Everyone knows the RIAA is telling the truth about these people they're sueing. Everyone knows P2P is mostly for illegal uses. Firefox started out with only 10 person using it, and now it's got a small percentage and it's growing. Imagine if those 10 people had said "no-one else is using it."
