hmm, looks like something crappy is invading "classic". these "next/previous" things should not be there. we know how to view lists and use tabs in the browser.
well, slashdot... this is now up to the "funny" level - i mean, 90% of comments being about suckiness of beta:)
get a geek to tell designers and coders how it should be. and give him/her the right to kill... ok, throw out of the building anybody suggesting stuff like the "beta".
i'm not pulled in yet, but i took a quick look from that popup at the top.
"fancy" design, more pics, more wasted vertical space, more objects that distract from the stories, worse usage of the horizontal space. oh, and it's all ajaxy or something, which makes it notably slower than current version.
probably aimed at general public than the original auditory. i suspect the content will decrease in quality afterwards (yeah, yeah, some will claim nothing new in there)
i opened it (not pulled in it yet) and went ZOMGWTFNOWAY. i'm not saying i will never come back after that one is implemented, but i surely will not be pleased. they could have just had an attempt at fixing unicode...
even simpler than that. flashing the lights is often used to warn others about potentially dangerous conditions - trash on the road and so on. in this case, it is a warning that somebody might be on the road or that somebody might stop sharply in front of you.
that's what i constantly do - i use as much as i need or like (same as i would with internet). never had any problems. have you had different experience ?
I proposed to the ICANN and the IETF to reserve ".here" for free local use by everyone similar to how the RFC1918 IP ranges are reserved. That would be the sort of thing I consider useful for a new TLD. We don't need "yet another dot com".
interesting. 'local' and 'lan' seem to be widely used, but 'here' might be nice, too. unlikely - there probably are enough bids on that one already
wow. heh. i had a similar reaction. something like "fucking cretins". wanted to add also something about retarded idiots, but i guess they are just very greedy. i hope this plan blows in their faces.
it's partially because they get packed with new features, passenger and baggage compartments are enlarged and crump zones get more space, too. although in some cases it does seem that designer just was a sadistic retard:)
can you share that document ? sounds interesting - and true:) in europe, it's common to grab some food every couple of days, if not every day. you don't now that well what you will eat and that will sit a bit longer. shopping more often allows to throw out much less.
and decrease the incentives to invest in replicating those organs (3d printing or growing separately - both of these have been popping up in news about different organs lately)
it's not just not ready, it is a complete disaster. and i had to see it to agree with those people
but what about static website without comments ? that would be slashdot beta, of course ! ;)

"beta" is a fucking shame, as this would have been an interesting discussion thread. this is like pre-boycott... it's worse than actual boycott.
fuck beta.
and you must be the designer of betafuck (it's like clusterfuck, just, well, beta)
mod parent up, it's at offtopic. unthinkable ! :)
it can not be offtopic, given how much beta sucks
oh, maybe it could shatter into DUST
i still get classic. i opened 'beta' and it was crap.
then i saw a screenshot of 'beta' comments.
it's not just "fuck beta", it's FUCKING HOLY CRAP THAT THING SUCKS. and then - FUCK BETA
i had only seen the main page. i had not seen the comments.
that.
is.
unusable.
whoever designed that is not a technical person, no matter what they might think about themselves.
so let me join with FUCK BETA

or fixing unicode support. without complete "redesign" ;)

3. nginx recently went open core. gets you hooked and then charges you. i also call that "fake opensource"
that's what i constantly do - i use as much as i need or like (same as i would with internet). never had any problems. have you had different experience ?
it's different. when you get water or gas, there's less on the other side. you don't "drain" the internet. it is not a consumable item.
or dis i get trolled here ? :)

i know a country in south america that disagrees

well. i know i should not. but it just seems to repeat again and again, and this seems so relevant...

interesting, although it might be over my head to get that working :) ;)
btw, there's a typo in the readme - dfrom
