Microsoft removed the always on-line aspect. The only time an internet connection is required is during the initial setup. You can then completely disconnect it from the internet. Without an always on connection, there is no way for them to validate your game ownership.

You missed his point. It isn't about the platform, it's about the bandwidth.
Even on PC, you are likely to have bandwidth issues when trying to play in a rural area.

but at the same time these users are allowed internet access. i'm almost positive that more time would be wasted on the internet than changing the background or checking the calendar.
there are several large corps in columbus, mostly banks and insurance companies... all of which use windows.
if anyone is coming out of town, i work graveyard at a hotel and you guys are welcome to do whatever you want.
