    I once had a coworker go apeshit because his laptop was still on despite the power in the building going out. We gave him a few minutes to come to his own conclusion, but he never did.

    FUD. Microsoft removed the always on-line aspect. The only time an internet connection is required is during the initial setup. You can then completely disconnect it from the internet. Without an always on connection, there is no way for them to validate your game ownership. The system remains in a low power state so that it can respond to the initial voice command to turn it on.

    You missed his point. It isn't about the platform, it's about the bandwidth. Even on PC, you are likely to have bandwidth issues when trying to play in a rural area.

    I have actually gotten a ticket while performing a right turn on red thanks to one of these cameras. Came to a full stop while the light was yellow, after turning red I made my turn. About a month later, ticket in the mail. I wasn't able to contest it. The camera had no idea I turned right, it just assumed I went straight through the light.

    my understanding is that xp home sucks when it comes to networking. i used it for a short while and it locked up every single time i tried to access another machine via lan.

    but at the same time these users are allowed internet access. i'm almost positive that more time would be wasted on the internet than changing the background or checking the calendar.

    there are several large corps in columbus, mostly banks and insurance companies... all of which use windows. if anyone is coming out of town, i work graveyard at a hotel and you guys are welcome to do whatever you want.
