While it may not be such a good idea to find stray cats to fill up your car, I think the development is certainly interesting.

If you take BSE for instance, where tens of thousands of cows are slaughtered 'just in case' and are unfit for consumption - what if we could use those animals for fuel? Or maybe even insects or Republicans. Ridding your house of pests may fill your car up at the same time. Africa may be able sell its grasshopper plague with enough profit to buy more food.

There seem to be about four different kinds of coal (Anthracite Solid and Broken, Bituminous Solid and Broken), and the previous link doesn't specify a type of coal, I'll go with the average of the cleaner burning two Anthracite coals (+-1300kg/m3).

The GPP doesn't state what kind of swimming pools we're talking about, but a single olympic swimming pool is (50*25*3*1300) 4875000 kg of coal, which is (4875000*8) 39000000 KWh. Assuming the coal doesn't burn completely, but only say 90% to it's potential, that's (39000000/365) 106849 years worth of continuous computing pleasure.

Assuming the GPP was talking about a backyard swimming pool, it seems they are about 70m3 on average, or 249 years worth of computing pleasure.

These scams have been around for years and generations, and people should know better than to send lots of money to strangers when promised mountains of gold.

It's not compassion that causes people to send money. My mother is one of the most compassionate people I know (although it's true! I might have a slight bias) she would give her last penny to help someone else, but she knows better than to participate in something like this.

If you read the stories of the people who got stung, they almost always say they got blinded by greed. Scamming is wrong, but if you live by the idea that nothing comes for free but God's grace, you'll be able to avoid all of these.

The Christian faith (who's political wing is the Republican party)

Well, you are flamebaiting. The Republican party calls itself Christian, but that doesn't mean it represents the whole Christian faith, or everyone who carries this faith. Aren't most Democrats Christians too? What about the Christians that give their last money, and work every day all day in poverty to help those in worse poverty? Can't you base your opinion on those? Or are they evil too, professing their faith and beliefs much like you are now?

If you had done a little research instead of jumping to conclusions, and read some Bible, you would certainly know better than what you say.

after all, one need only look as far as Job's daughters antics in the book of Genesis to see that the Bible is no authority on sexual morality

How did you reach that conclusion? The Bible speaks of many acts in detail, including murder, theft, rape, adultery. The Bible explains what Job's daughters did, and why they did it, much like the Bible explains how John was decapitated and why he was decapitated. Does the Bible suggest decapitation is right and we should go around decapitating people? Of course not!

Or is it that you just wanted to find something seemingly incorrect in the Bible so you could put your conscience to rest?

The Bible doesn't say sex is wrong, the Bible does say pornography is wrong, and lusting after another woman in your heart means you already comitted adultery. The Bible also says adulterers, fornicators, liars, thieves, murderers and drunks will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Lest they repent and abandon their ways.

Is pornography wrong? As a Christian, I obviously think so. I used to be addicted to it from an early age, but thanks to God I am free from it now.

Republican party's religious mantra on those who do not want and care about it.

You guys voted for him, now you'll have to sit it out. You can at least take some comfort in knowing that there are enough Christians who oppose Bush and his party.

I don't think you can effectively outlaw pornography, but to put a tax on it is a great idea I think. At least, if you have a responsible government, it would be a great idea.

For an interesting testimony on what pornography can do, read this interview with Ted Bundy; honor student, local hero, serial rapist and murderer. http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/deadly/intervie w.php

Under OS X, installation consists of downloading the application, and optionally extracting it from an archive. That's it, nothing more. You can run the app from any location (although the "standard" is the Applications folder), including right out of the DMG archive! File associations are easy: Just have the program on your hard drive. That's it! The OS takes care of querying the program for its associations. If you move the program, the OS knows. And if you delete the program, the OS removes the association. No mucking around with manual configuration. The *only* thing you can change is the default program!

You mean like Gentoo's emerge or Debian's apt-get? They don't even require you to download the application; they calculate all the dependencies, download them, install them, then download and install the main application.

AFAICT, there is no mention that this intel processor will be x86. If it is, I think this will only boost Linux, because apps on the Mac OSX will run under Linux too (or even with minor modification).
