OK. Ket us look at the test-pilot part. There are people working on it. Meaning they are not working on other things that are actually browser related. This is Firefox thast is working on it. They should be working on things people are asking for.
Next: if the pilot fails, they would have wasted a lot of time. This might be the best outcome. If the pilot is a success, it will be implemented into the browser, the moment they have found a way to commercialize it. (Not that hard) That will be a bad thing, because if I look up at the prices of toothpaste, I do not want Amazon and others know that I am doing that. There is a reason I use Duckduck.
So the best moment to complain about it is before it went into production. As a result of that, there can be three outcomes. 1) The outcry was large enough, so they stop developing it. 2) The outcome was good enough as a warning, so they won't ever put it into the default browser 3) They do not care and put it in anyway.
Although option 3 is the most likely outcome, we should be at least trying to get option one, in hope to get at least option 2.
A test pilot is not just the technical part. The backlash must be part of the pilot as well. How is it received? And the answer is "bad" (at leats here).
So first, if it will work, the bloat will be implemented, taking away developers from things that users actually want that have been removed, due to lack of developers and to make Firefox less bloaty.
Second, if they do this, companies can pay Firefox to get a place in their pricing, meaning that not all companies will be able or willing to pay, regardless if they have a lower and better price. So that means, by default, it will not work as advertised.
So: Unwanted bloat is added. Wanted bloat is removed. I still have to do my own research to verify what the the add-on was supposed to tell me. I somehow do not see myself as a winner here.
This word "everybody". I do not think it means that you think it means.
Well, it used to be 14 years. Then they extended it a bit and then a bit mre and then even more. So now it is "Till hell freezes over".
Giving them 10 years will result in extentions and exceptions and will end in "till hell freezes over".
So the best thing would be to forbid copyrights altogether. We have tried it and it didn't work. No reason to try it again. They have shown they have no restrain.
So get rid of all copyrights (and patents, while we are at it). And trademarks ONLY for company logo's and names. Not for design and color.... because fuck em. They broke enough already. And if they moan, fuck em harder. It means they like it.
When I hear people explain the capitalist market where cometition brings down prices for customers and innovate to bring prices lower, I always think that this is based where there are certain rules in place. First is that going into that market should be easy. So I always look at it as habing bakeries in a city. Opening a bakery is not that expensive. You have an over, buy some milled grains, Add water and a lot of time and knowledge. Now you are a baker.
This obviously will only work for smaller bakeries. So I am then thinking of bakeries in the middle ages in Europe. It is at that moment I realize that those bakeries had a guild (like a Union in the US) that protected the ones that where already there. Bit like a monopoly for bakers (and beermakers and...) So they regulated these markets even then.
If the regulation for business goes back so far, what then is a "normal market"?
AQnd even t hen, sometimes such a thing is not so much forbidden as encouraged in some cases.
Cyclists don't drive on paths. They cycle. And that is legal. Not where I live. They are not allowed on the footpath. (unless specified that they can) So your claim that I am lying is revoked.
From the 500 meters I walk from my home to the train station, I never have seen a car doing anything wrong, besides not paying a parking ticket. I see 2 to 5 cyclists doing something illegal each day, including: Driving on the pedestrian path. Driving in a one-way street, where it is clearly forbidden for cyclists. Not stopping at a crossing.
Not only do they do that, if I not go out of their way, they get angry. Yes, I have had them hit me. The trick I learned is that if they hit you with the steering bar, you feel relative little, while they say hello to the ground.
So if you ONLY see two per month, they behave well.
From the cyclists I see, around 50% is doing something wrong or at least unsafe.
There is a HUGE difference between not working and being relevant. The thing is that the majority of people who retire have no real hobbies or way to spend their time outside of their job.
I have been without a job for a longer period of time and I would LOVE not needing to go to work. The only readon I do that is because of the monies.
The fact that you think that working part time or working for a lower pay is the alternative mena sthat YOU also do not have a clue what to do when you retire.
There are a gazillion things you can do that are not working. As this is/., a good thing could be open source. You can spend a smuch or little time as you desire on whatever lever you want.
It does not even have to be coding. It can be testing or designing or anything else. Another thing to do is to travel. And one does not even exclude the other.
There is no reason to keep your skills current if you retire. Start learning new skill. Paint, dance, woodworking, gardening,...
But then it is easy for me. A medical accident wil, most likely, not eat up my savings. I know a lot of people and most will have a bit of a short shock when they retire. After about 6 months they will have found their new rythm. It is often very hardb on the relkationship, as suddenly they need to be with each other 24/7.
Much will depend on the country where you live. e.g. in Spain going out and drink a coffee or a glass of wine with all the other pensioners is very normal.
All they need to do is ask all their members to close their Swiss bank accounts they use for their Hollywood Accounting. That will show that they are actually seriosus about it.
Why would they do business with a country that does not respect them?
Another thing they can do out of protest is ask their members to go on the streets and smash their swiss watches. (I'm helping them, right?)
There are only 20 catagories,if that. This will drown out most thibgs. Want to see some huling or australian rules? Well, tough.
Adding a lot of subgroups and sub sub groups would sallready make it easier to include some and exlude others.
I woukd like some music, but not others. And searching with google.com gives better results than with youtube using the same search.. It is also obvious it is tracking you. On a clean install, a search wil show the same prefered videos on the side as being logged in for a month. And i follow some non-connected suff. Makeup 4wheel driving, computer related,,house building, toy trains, gaming. So how come theygive me the same makeup channel I am subscribed, as well as several other videos of other channels I am subscribed to to on a PC with a blank image after watching a soccer video? Somethung I never watcj, normally. Obviously not logged in anywhere.
To me, the caller should not go to prison. Sure it is bad, but sending prank callers to prison? Really?
Let him do 500 hours of community service.

Please define "Normal market".
When I hear people explain the capitalist market where cometition brings down prices for customers and innovate to bring prices lower, I always think that this is based where there are certain rules in place.

Yeah. Down with Alaska and Texas! (Well, that is where a lot of oil is coming from, so ...)
May the pillow for your feet always be fluffy.
Haha. We made him type this.
Cyclists don't drive on paths. They cycle. And that is legal.
Not where I live. They are not allowed on the footpath. (unless specified that they can)

To be fair, I like apples better than oranges.
That is cruel. I would let it hug the baby bear while mama bear watches. That way it will end in one big grouphug.
OK AC: I'll bite. I did that once. I opened the curtains and a big yellow globe in the sky burned both my retina's. I had to buy new Apple displays.
Has been going on for a bit longer. I bought a car 15 or so years ago. I live in Belgium, next to Germany. My VW came from Mexico, not from Wolfsburg.
The moment the taxes increase, they bet that the other party is in power to blame them
I have been hit by a car once and several times by a cyclist. I was a pedestrian each time and I was in my right.
The thing is that the one with the cyclists isn't a data entry in any database.
From the 500 meters I walk from my home to the train station, I never have seen a car doing anything wrong, besides not paying a parking ticket. I see 2 to 5 cyclists doing something illegal each day, including:

It started long before Clinton. Think at least the 80-ies.
Another solution, besides increasing the retirement age, is to reduce the period people can use it. After 75? Off to the Soylent Green factory!
There is a HUGE difference between not working and being relevant. The thing is that the majority of people who retire have no real hobbies or way to spend their time outside of their job.
