  1. Re:Knee-jerk... on UK Police To Publicly Shame Drunk Drivers On Twitter This Christmas · · Score: 1

The reaction of most people would be "Fuck em". I believe that is why there should be a difference between the police and the law.
The police are there to uphold the law. They should NEVER be allowed to so anything else. People who drive drunk will already get a punishment. It is not up to the police to add anything on top of that.

One of the reasons there is a juridical system is to prevent these kinds of things.

And no, arrests should not be public record. Many people who are arrested are later proven innocent. At least as long as there is no conviction by a judge (pr jury) it should NOT be public. That means no public records for tickets, wrong parking or similar things.

I would even be unwilling to make criminal records public. Once I did my time, I did my time and as I am released, I should be able to start over. That said, there can be limitations. e.g. in Belgium where I wiork, you need a clean slate. You ask a proof at the police and they will give it to you to give to your employer. They can NOT ask it directly. And even that only gives a general indication if you are convicted.
It will also be cleaned after a while, depending on the conviction.

So where do I set the line? At the beginning of individual priivacy, regardsless.

The same goes for ANY receipe. Take a look at a real cookingshow (where they actiualy cook) and sometimes they must make something where they get a recipe. They all get the same, yet it all tastes (and looks) different.

Furthermore it is cooking, not chemistry. If you need to add two tamatoes, how big are they? If they say 200gram tomatoes, what kind? If they say 200gram cherry tomatoes, how ripe are they? What is the quality?

There is a reason breweries have a brewmaster. He tastes all during the process to see if anything needs changing and adjusts things when needed. And a propriarty yeast train will help it a bit, but if they give it to you, you will not be able to make the same beer.

The bar was one story lower. However with the chair within 10 seconds I realized I needed to plan my route. It was not possible to just take the elevator one floor down. It was:
1 floor up, go to the other elevator, 2 floors down, go to the first elevator 1 floor up due to the uneveness of the floors.

That left a life long impression on me not to take things for granted and all it took was 15 minutes of my life and a smart man who understood how to bring across information.

What is holding me back is the time it takes to get the rental and bring it back. Also there is not enough competition to make it attractive and the prices are pretty high. 50 EUR for a day for the smallest one.

For a weekend that would be 100EUR. Still cheaper than owning a car. When I want to go cheaper, I would need to travel one hour to and one hour back, loosing 2 hours in the process.

Also opening hours mean that I would have to take half a day off to get the car.

So having a car that drives to me, gets me where I want to go and back would be great.

Only in the long run and not for everything.

What it is much more is letting corporations do things, but within very strict rules. Most of the time to encourage competition in the way it was intended : lower prices for the consumer.

What they do is often change the demands for companies e.g. longer service periods or one single cell phone charger connection.

I believe this is becvause there is also more competition in politics (multi party system). This makes it much harder for the companies to buy parties, because there will be some that won't be baught and will start making things difficult for those who would like that money.

More than one has a smal party with a single goal changed course of politics. This only works if the idea is big enough with the general polulation. So no highjacking of the big parties by the little ones.
