Don't get your hopes up. Nintendo would have to license a phone/pda software platform like Symbian or (yeah sure this is likely) Windows Mobile / Smartphone. Nintendo does not have the required software to make their platform work. They could gain a head start if they were to imbrace free software, fast! QTopia on a Gameboy would be very interesting!
Opening a blogger account won't get you a gmail account. I've had a blogger account for about 2 years but I hardly used it. After I heard they were giving away gmail accounts to blogger users I immediately checked the site but to no avail, I guess they didnt consider me active enough. I've even been blogging there a bit over the past two weeks to see if maybe I'd get the chance to sign up, but so far I've had no luck:(
In the Netherlands we always have coalition governments too. I am really glad this happens, as it takes the ideological edge out of politics, and ensures our politicians act in a pragmatic way.
Ow, come on. Just put a clause in your fair use policy that students must sign before using the network putting a max on bandwidth per month. This way everyone could still use p2p and the heavy abusers could be disabled.

Does anyone know where I can find Knoppix for PPC? I'd love to play around with it on some old iMacs I have lying around. However I only found an old release. I would think that linux-live cds should work even better om macs than on pcs, since there is so much less hardware to configure. The knoppix homepage states that the minimum requirements include a x86 processor.
This would be nothing like the Itunes music store. First of all, the iPod is focused on AAC and MP3. AFAIK there is no OGG support. And there is DRM built into Itunes...
Doesn't linux combined with something like Qtopia provide something similar to what Symbian/Windows provide. Granted, Qtopia is not open source (as far as I can tell) but at least companies don't have to build everything from scratch.

well netscape navigator at one time was the defacto standard picked by consumers. ms didn't go along then and they did allright.
