i hate to say this, because i have an ipod and i like itunes/itms, but it seems like the fact that 10000 songs is the capacity of their product and they're trumpeting the fact that a 10000 song prize is a big deal, aren't they sort of advertising for the napster argument that subscriptions are a better deal?
in EQ there was usually some way to turn the required phrase that you knew you had to spit back to the NPC into an indictment on the creators of their inane quests, it was a great way to express your frustration at the same time that you're advancing your quest
it's also possible that they just tape recorded the shower users to try to develop a showerhead shape that improved the acoustics. god knows most of us need all the help we can get
you say this because OS X is already doing everything else that Longhorn is supposed to do?
otoh, this is finally a feature that we can be sure will be ready by the time that Longhorn is released. all of those asking "since X feature yet another one that is shipping after Longhorn, what exactly will be inside Longhorn?" can rest easy with this as your answer
I can't hardly imagine a world dominated by lawyers would consider patent reform.
we're in that world now. our legislative branch is stuffed with lawyers elected to office (wiki says 45%, the senate is more interested in how many were doctors, cspan says 37% of last congress had law degrees), our executive branch is frequently headed by a former lawyer who staffs the positions below him with more lawyers, and our judicial branch is mostly former lawyers. lawyers surely come in all stripes, but there is surely a certain sameness to their point-of-view that comes with the job. it can't be healthy that they're so overrepresented.
p.s. i can't find good, concrete numbers on this pattern online, but if anyone else knows a good spot to look i'd love to see them.
the problem is that if you're looking for information on the web finding it on a blog is about as likely as finding news in the editorial page of the newspaper. the vast majority of the times that i've found something on a blog that was useful to my search was when a blog contained a link to some other website or a blurb from some external article
right, "AI" is about giving your program improvisational smarts, "learning AI" is about giving your program the ability to keep getting smarter. i agree that Diablo II was damned subtle if it included this. i liked Diablo II, but it didn't even seem to be very good at pathing. perhaps the learning AI was teaching itself to make those goddamned buzzards fly around more so that you couldn't hit them.
i'm assuming that's the server software and not the client, therefore it's not as big of a problem as it sounds?
i'm sorry, you lost me at the part where you hate the weather. what did the weather ever do to you?
for the ball!

i hope i'm not stuck next to you when your phone rings and i get to hear your offkey warble no doubt recorded in the shower :)
no offense to Ms McCreary, but she looks a lot better from that angle than from straight on
"It was the dumbest business model of Andy Dufresne's career..."
If by flight capabilities you mean fast enough to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, then yeah, you're right
but only after they crash into you
here's a link to support what the parent poster was referring to http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lemmings.htm

we may be getting fewer innovations, but the quality of them is clearly on the rise
ever wonder how Snapple melts?

it seems like that is what he's asking for :
"I wish Google had an option to exclude blogs from my search."

maybe it's referring to the fact that they released two updates with large downloads so close together
maybe if they had really great coffee people would ride this supertrain
