There seems to be a disconnect between critics and just about everyone I've talked to about the movie. Just about every review has overlooked the awful dialog, bad editing, and crappy sructure/pacing and praised the movie as one of the best
on the contrary, i think about every review that i read made fun of the dialog (RollingStone magazine's review was one of my favorite). you have to be careful where you get your reviews from. one easy rule of thumb is that if the source is someone that has radio/tv call letters next to his name, he's probably as dirty as the men's room at the local poolhall.
very hard to believe. but then again, i read the text on their own site :
Statistics based on released Secunia advisories since 2003. Choose below to see statistics based on different criteria.
Please Note. The statistics below should not be used for a direct comparison of how secure two different products are. This is partly due to the fact that a Secunia advisory often cover multiple vulnerabilities. Also certain operating systems bundle a very large number of software packages and are therefore affected by many vulnerabilities that would be counted as a vulnerability in stand alone products for other operating systems / platforms. Other factors such as vendor response times and ability to properly fix vulnerabilities is also important.
"But then, maybe I'm missing all the people who line up at McDonalds just for the coffee (while I'm in the rather long line at Pete's) or maybe you should work on your reasoning skills."
as someone who hates coffee, i'm always surprised at it too, but it happens. most of the "good coffee" places around me cost 3x as much and people have to get out of their car. when i've gotten breakfast there, i frequently am behind a customer that is just getting coffee
Apparently, either the store sales staff were a bunch of greedy asshats, or else improperly (Apple) trained ex-Wintel clowns, or both.
if you bought it at CompUSA, it's because they're greedy asshats. sales commissions (and really poor item price marking) have made that store very customer unfriendly
since speedboats cost much more than $200, perhaps he could have several victims all drop their money from the same bridge (or nearby bridges), so that he can make multiple pickups per speedboat explosion. volume is really the key to profitability here
so what happens when you're *gasp* upgrading to the next video card and want to dispose of this one? there's already a disposal problem with a lot of computer parts, is this comparable or worse and will the companies that dispose of parts now be ready to accept this new one?
it's actually the same technology as previously. they just overclocked it so much that it melts down your metal case, shorts out the system, and then cools down since there's no longer any current
it seems like it'd be a lot easier just to switch rendering engines when you hit a bad page than to copy the link, open another application, paste the link into it, etc. plus, this way you can maintain one set of bookmarks one browser history, and one cache.
i'm trying to think if this is a good thing for us web developers. is this an easy way to quickly test a page in two different environments, or is it a third environment that has quirks that the two engines don't have natively?
while i agree with you that they should have waited, i don't think the 24-hour timeline is really correct. if it takes (for example) 3 days for them to take the final browser build, do regression testing on it, and print it to CDs and then release them, than the developers may have been working all of those 3 days (plus the 24 hours) making this patch that they just released. firefox 1.0.4 wasn't released 24 hours ago, so it probably took most of the time from when it was released until now to integrate the fixes.
well, given that the CD case generally has the band plastered all over it, i think you've already had some exposure to it before you've popped it into your CD player. leave the credits where they are. they're not there to serve as a resume, it's an expression of personal pride in their work and that of their co-workers. unless your name happens to be Alan Smithee
they're trying to make slashdot homework easier
i forgot to include an illustration. here's the next generation dual-core PC-mini
the point is that with that form factor, large horizontal top surface, and intel chip this will make an excellent cup holder for hot beverages!
the point of this is really just a setup for the ultimate hack of putting the entire PC-Mini back into a PC case
I'm not the guy who hacked the guy whose account this is under...
according to both the summary and TFA this is a different beast than that non-functioning demonstration monstrosity
is it fair to mod something redundent if they've posted just what you were thinking?

i think Christopher Lee will be surprised to learn that he's animated

not quite the same, but the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses has been the basis for 4+ films? (Dangerous Liasons, Valmont, Cruel Intentions 1 and 2)

which cool new technology did pet rocks use?
i'm going to stay tuned to their site. with talent like that, it's only a matter of time before they release an entire kernel!
Excel is probably the most powerful, robust, versatile, used for everything and the kitchen sink, program ever created.
be careful saying this on Slashdot, you're likely to get skewered by the Emacs fanboys

Why doesnt someone just put a small TV tuner in a phone w/ some extra hardware space (hard to find, I know).
unless they hack the cellphone into an Apple Mini case, we probably won't hear about it on Slashdot
so when someone posts a link to "my powerbook battery exploded", remember that it's just another cool apple mod and not any sort of part problem

you forgot to add "that's slower than an external firewire enclosure"
